I got through the chaos of my first mini. YAY! It is not backed yet but at least I have the top made. I think I will hold off until I get my swap mini made... I think that I can show the fabric for that but not the border... it would give away the secret of who gets it.... I would hate if @*#($& found out. I can show everything I think, except that border.... HMMMM I will think.... scratch

I finished tracing the paper foundations for my mini, plus I pulled fabrics. Um. Twenty-eight fabrics. :affraid: In a (less than) 25" quilt.

Now, c'mon. You're not really surprised, are you? :angelic:

Wasn't sure what was going to do for my mini quilt. But today DH and I went to yard sales and while on a road we seldon travel DH spotted a greenhouse. Since we cannot pass a greenhouse or anything to do with plants without stopping we stopped. They also had a quilt shop. Material is gorgeous and not for clothing, this was definitely a quilt shop. Lots of FQs, jelly rolls etc. She had a basket with free patterns, picked 2 and one perfect for mini quilt. Have most of material I need but since pattern free, had to buy some more material. It is a great shop, middle of nowhere but really well stocked. So will be going back. Going to start on my mini next week. jessie s

sometimes a file just mucks up, at times I get a photo I resize and the code breaks or corrupts, it wont post. I just dump the resized one and start again, resize it again and then it posts.

I've noticed in the Likes/Dislikes thread that many people are hot or cold on purple - there's not often a middle ground there.

I know that some people really detest purple. If one of that group is the person for whom I'm making the quilt? The purple is the color that is LEAST represented (there's more of everything else).

Of course, if the person I'm making the qult for LOVES purple - well, aren't they gorgeous, rich fabrics???

:angelic:

FB, if you are making the mini quilt for me it is OK. My favourite colour is mauve,, purple and all different shades. My sewing room is mauve with touches of pink and blue. Rest of house is more neutral because not everyone can live with mauve. But I can. But if someone else has my name I like all other colours too. jessie s

Tracy, Those fabrics are gorgeous! I love anything floral though. I looked through my fabric recently and discovered I have more florals than anything else. Duh! Need to think outside my box more. Or just stay in my box and not bother anyone.

I guess I need to be looking through my miniature quilt magazines to get going on this swap! I have not given it a lot of thought yet. They don't take long to make but the deciding time is much longer for me! And then to pick out fabric!!! Best get to it.

It occurred to me when I got all those fabs together that this was a TRACY quilt - colors and richness and all that. I'm pretty sure that my swap-ee will like it, though it's sure not what I started out thinking I was going to do for her!! (If I had enough, I'd do a second quilt for myself!!)

The floral is actually a fabric that my BFF gave me - she'd done a shop hop somewhere and the floral was the 'main' fabric for the blocks all of the shops were doing. She didn't get all of the blocks, so decided to just chuck* the whole thing - fortunately (usually) when she decides to chuck fabric, she always checks with me first!

*Most of the time she doesn't actually trash the fabric - we know lots of people/organizations that need charity supplies.
