:sohappy:

As a matter of fact, there IS a lot of purple in it!*

I've been so busy going and doing and then sewing that I ran out of time to 'enter' my quilt into the Quilting Gallery contest: I'm on my first cup of coffee, I have to leave the house in 45 minutes and won't be back until after dinner tonight - there's no way I'll be able to press, photo, upload, and then write a 600-word essay about my quilt.

So I'll just share it with a hundred or so of my close fiends friends here. Tomorrow.

*You know, I'm a charter member of the Lovers of Purple unofficial fan club here... It's really a shame when good purpledom goes bad.

Just so's we all know, the "winner" of the Ugly Quilt contest has been chosen. With over 170 votes, Jean of Jean's Page won for her entry.

There is NO WAY that Ann's entry even came close to winning with only 5 votes (see? told you so! :mockery-017: ) - in fact, there was only one entry that got fewer votes than Ann's Leap Frog quilt.

Sorry you didn't win any prize, Ann, but hopefully you can now view your quilt as an "Eye of the Beholder" treasure!

...and I uploaded the pics before going to my mom's but I forgot to share them here.

The story is that I used all the fabs from one designer's line. They're all gorgeous individually. Together? It's a sad, sad thing. I even have some killer border/backing fabrics. Sad, so sad. Click-to-biggify at your own risk!

lmao lmao lmao

Oh, no, I don't think I even offered it to her. The quilt is in my bag o'tricks to take to beginners' classes as an example of what not to do.

I suppose I could rip it apart (at least down to the 4-patches) and split it into two quilts. Or add some cream color to break it up.

To quote my friend who's had an embroidery-capable sewing machine for 4 years and hasn't taken the module out of the styrofoam: "That's a winter project."

Well FB..it's nicely pieced! Thumbup I think if you redo it some "Winter" a little cream would brighten it up a bit? Even as it is..if it were quilted..I'm sure a child that likes Teddy bears would love that quilt! lovehearts

Heh..your friend and I would get along just fine on learning the embroidery part of our machines. I've had my machine for 8 years..and I say learning that part of it is a "winter project"..for "someday".

You know it's funny..I've had several offers to take my "ugly one" off my hands? lmao

Hey, at least my ugly quilt wasn't very big. If you gave that to someone, you would have to preface the giving with the statement, "It's the gift that counts."
