I can't drink coffee when I sew.......I'm so afraid I will spill it near my project/machine...so I bring up a cup to my room, set it far away and let it get cold....then in a day or two I've got to carry it downstairs.

CC maybe the scent is enough to spur you on... your morning essence..

Since I have been working regular nights I don't feel like I am in a fog anymore so I have not had coffee or tea for about 3 weeks...starting to feel human again and wanting to sew a little getting some stuff done around the house.. doesn't look like a cyclone..sewing room is starting to look like it is getting in shape now starting to get myself in shape.. walking is great for the mind especially in this wonderful weather...that is my aphrodisiac..
plus all the morning wants and taunts from my furbabies..

CC that is just the best advise.. they watch over the fabric for us anyways.. Polksa didn't know you were having surgery.. make sure you heal first...everything else can wait... it is good you are giving yourself a little therapy..

Off to library and maybe get some batting. I was wondering. Yrs ago before I stated quilting. I saw a quilt on a frame and ladies working on it. Nice, huge, lots of embordery. What caught my eye and I still remember is, around the boarder about 6 inches in, they were putting a strip of lace. The top was white, and the lace was red. They had the lines all marked where you go in and out. It looked really nice. Does anyone know what kind of lace you could use?

Polksa.. I would think if you were using cotton for your quilt you would use cotton for your lace.. as long as it washes well.. you could even make your own lace if you know how to crochet..

It reminded me of a shine ribbon, more then lacey. I would think one couldn't wash or want to wash the quilt much with it.
