I agree with just one and also sending it UNfilled to cut down on the cost of postage. I think postage is so high because no one uses stamps much anymore. They can pay their bills on line and talk on line! Why waste a stamp?

I posted the rules so far and who's in on the first page, first entry.

Anymore takers! It's only one pin cushion and you don't even have to fill it!!!

Uh, yeah... okay. (That's not a big surprise, is it?) Have you decided a mail-by date yet?

I am looking forward to seeing what you do with these.

I won't join, however, as I don't use pincushions any more. I discovered mechanic's magnetic parts trays. They are stainless and hold pins wonderfully. I have 3" and 6" versions.

I love the magnetic trays.. works well... but I still love a homemade pincushion . I find I keep different pins in different cushions. One has safety pin in it, one has threading needles in it and my magnetic has my daily pins in it... and its so much fun to look at them and think this one was my moms and Snookie made this one and I made this one...etc...

QM,
I use magnetic trays too but I started getting the fabric ones as gifts here and there so I display them around my sewing room. May try to make a moobile if I get a few more!

Thanks, Linda - I'm sorry that I hit "send" before reading that you'd updated the rules on the first page :hammer:

I already know what pattern I'll use for the pincushion I make. I'm thinking of finding some neon orange (or green) fabric so that my swap-ee won't lose it in the maelstrom of creativity.

Or is that only me?? hahaha

(November only has 30 days in it, BTW)

I use the magnetic ones too for "daily" pins. But I love pincushions. I have several for various things. I do the same as Golo...different pincushions for different pins and needles. Can you have too many pin cushions?...ummmm nope...don't think so.
I only have ONE request about these little gems....No one is allowed to make one that resembles their DH...I don't want to be the voodoo queen... lol! lmao lol!

I'm sure I was a good person when I first woke up this morning (yah, probably at least until my feet hit the floor) . . . then I read Bearfoot's request, and I've thought of far too many people (not my DH, though) I'd make into voodoo pincushions!! Actually Bearfoot thinking of that gave me a really good chuckle!

I saw a knife block for sale the other day, was a voodoo block, holder in the shape of a body and knives sticking out of it every which way, looked like there was a knife slot for every major area one would want to stick - if you were a voodoo priestess LOL
