Memaw, You ought to go to that auction anyway. You never know. And if nothing else you can bid up to your price and they'll have to go higher to get it.

Gimpy, Okay, I am going to join this SSS too. I had already joined the one on the sister site and thought I might get the same person on both, but I guess that wouldn't matter. hahaha

Loretta Im so glad you joined, how about whichever site is giving the name of your recipeient first, you let the host on the other board know who you got, that way you wont get same person twice ;-)

clap Yay, Cotton Picker joined us!

I have never done a secret santa before but it sure sounds like fun so I'm in! BUT I hope when the list is finalized, the "guidelines" are laid out so I don't mess up. Ideas on what to give are most welcome too as I have no idea at this point.! :hammer:

:party-075: clap Hurrah for Imabuzzysma, so glad you took the step and joined us. Its really easy, first time I have ever done one too! Couple of ways you can go, you can simply make a little token gift, could be a mini quilt, set of coasters, placemats, bookmarks, rotary cutter holder (thats all I can think off top of my head) or you could 'regift' something you already have as Between suggested. A book you dont want or have 2 of, fabric you know you are never going to use, patterns you never used etc. Or you can purchase a little something, no more than $10 in value. Could be anything, basting pins, fat 1/4s, buttons, stationary, little purse for carrying bits and bobs to classes etc. Its not hard, just think of a nice little token gift you would like to recieve in the mail, and your on the right track for sure :-)

Im sure others will step in with some gift ideas and help out too, my brain is sunk beneath a few feet of mud today Cheesy Below i copied Betweens ideas for you

there is the regift system as well.. sometimes you buy a kit or something you just had to have now you think why did I ever get it.. or there may be a pattern that you have used and don't need anymore that can be a regift...even again some f/q that you thought you loved but now your fabric choices have changed.. regift..
I love regifting it is like going to a garage sale and buying what the other does not want. someones garbage could be someone else's treasure.. and really you have used it and the only money outta your pocket is the postage..

Just a thought.. quilters love patterns even if they have been opened

Haha. The story here is the when you flush a toilet in Australia the water swirls counterclockwise. Here in the US it swirls clockwise.

Does Santa's sleigh have that loud beep when it backs up like those construction trucks?

Schnookie, it was my pincushion from the pincushion swap! It was beautiful too! I've got to take a pic and get it posted. I had planned to do that Saturday but it just didn't happen. Monday for sure!

I can't believe all the ones who have signed up for this swap! Fantastic ladies! It's gonna be a good swap! 25 so far! Wow!

The exciting thing for me is that I don't really know many of you well...I have never done a swap on this board before...so it's all new to me!! By the look of the list, odds are fairly good that I will be mailing to someone I don't know...and getting something special from someone I don't know! Cool!
