I'll try for another picture soon. I now have the top completed and am working on piecing the back. I said I didn't have anything I liked for binding, so DH volunteered to drive me in to town to buy something for the job.

Of course, I had to take the top along and show it off again. As I expected, everyone in this store loved the blocks too. These blocks make a wonderful combination. I am feeling SO lucky. Thank you all again.

The binding is, in this case. intended to just blend in. It's kinda green and yellow mottled and will go nicely with the leaves in the border. The store owner and I spent about half an hour selecting it. DH was SURE there would be more of the deep red I used for cornerstones. I had to explain again that when I see a red I really like, I buy all of it. (This store mainly has flat folds of 4 yards or less. at $4 or $5/yd.)

I think all of you are great. I wanted everyone who comes to our quilt show to know it, so I wanted to be sure to finish in time, since I was able.

We had to really rush to get my quilts cleaned up and into the fair for today's turn in. One styed on the window, just too much work. We would have had plenty of time if we hadn't lost a day to the forest fire, but we COULD have lost so much more. WE are very grateful for our blessings.

The two BBS quilts I have put together from the marvelous blocks I recieved last year and this were slightly different sizes and so were in different judging classes. They were in competition with the opportunity quilts from several guilds, all quilted on long arms by members who make regular money quilting for pay. Our quilts took 2nd and thrid in the division of group quilts. I have never like this year's opportunity quilt from my guild, so I am particularly pleased that we topped it.

I left for nap time before the final part of the judging. I have 10 quilts in the fair, 6 entered for judging. All got first or second place ribbons, so I am feeling pretty smug.
