PrincessKris~

Sorry this isn't exactly on topic...

I like Kokopelli because I'm a flutist and Chickasaw. I play the concert flute, but also play around with my Native American flutes, and teach the recorder at school to 4th & 5th graders...now, that's a "special sound" you should be glad to not hear everyday!! HEHEHE!!Anyway, he carries his little bag of seed on his back, that's why his back always looks so humped over. And, yes, he's the Hopi god of fertility and I think he plays his flute so the crops will grow. Mainly, I like his flute!

LOL! We get off topic a lot around here! azn Thanks so much for the info! I too play the flute, though not very well. You are right, I am grateful not to hear that "Special sound" at all!!!!
It is wonderful that you keep popping on here and saying hi now and again! How's the family? How are you? I cannot imagine how you are. I have not had that sad experience. I pray that it is many times many years off.

I was hoping to hear from charalquilts, LEM, and sewnsew. We sent out the blocks that we found of Mom's that she had made & misplaced. There was some discussion about them on QS back in April or so. They should be receiving them yesterday or today. Anyone heard from them yet?

Blessings to you Merry Bee's Girl. I am so sorry to hear about your mom. She was a dear friend on this forum and we all miss her very much! cry2 I got the block you sent and will cherish it! Thanks for being so thoughtful and sending the blocks along to the birthday folks.

Please don't be a stranger. Okay, who am I kidding? It would really be quite a feat to be stranger than some (namely me) on this forum. haha. :joker: geek :peek:

Okay, I got the October birthday blocks mailed off today. :D

Now it's time to get sewing for the November blocks (if you haven't already).
Alvaquilter would like 10" sage colored blocks.

I've received blocks from the following: blewbird, princesskris, bizkitea98, sewnsew, stcycly66, charalquilts, and wlrquilts. The rest of us need to get busy and get our November blocks done before the end of October. I plan to mail out the blocks I have the first week of November.

Happy quilting all!

I just wanted to say thank you all for my birthday blocks I received. THey are all gorgeous. I haven;t been on the board lately as I trying to get some handbags made for a craft fair I am doing in November, but wanted to come on and say thank you.

I hope to sew them together the first of the year. It was fun opening each block to see the wonderful patterns and fabrics.

QM - I had left several postings on the QS site asking you who that block was for. I still have it, but didn't know who it was suppose to be for. It is a SBS walking a cute little dog. Is that the one you mean? Let me know who it was for and I will send it to its rightful home.

Hi guys, just me again. I'm getting ready to mail off the November blocks but haven't received any more than what I posted earlier. Still have to finish the one I'm working on - Yikes! But I'll get it done this weekend. I'll probably mail the blocks out on Thursday next week (I think that's the 6th).

QuilterMarynel -- please let me know about the SBS block you sent some while back. It is a girl walking a dog on a green/sagish background. It's about 16" square with a 10" SBS in the middle. I need to hear from you so I know who the intended recipient is and can send this beautiful block to its rightful home.

Love those emoticons! :D

Okay, we're down to the home stretch.

November goes to StillStitchenInAlva a.k.a. AlvaQuilter -- she wants a 10" sage green block.
I have received blocks from the following: blewbird, bizkitea98, princesskris, sewnsew, wlrquilts, charalquilts, lem, and stcycly66.
If I get the remaining blocks (leisarae, polska, quiltermarynel, and bin4given) by Friday, 11/7/08, I will put all the blocks in the mail on Saturday 11/8/08.

December is fast approaching and although Christmas is on everyone's mind - shopping, sewing, planning, etc., we musn't forget our December birthday. Stcycly66 would like 12" blocks in burgandy and forrest green - Christmas colors.
I have received blocks from blewbird, quiltermarynel, sewnsew, Alvaquilter, wlrquilts, polska, bizkitea, princesskris, lem, and charalquilts.
I still need blocks from bin4given. If you could get the block to me the week after Thanksgiving, I'll put in the mail the first week of December.

Okay, that's all the news for now. Happy Sewing!

Lora.

Smitten This swap was such fun! You know, I would love to do it again! But I was thinking of a theme, like SBS or something. Wouldn't that be fun? Or maybe that is not a good idea. Undesided Ah well, I would like to do it again!
