I want to do a modified saw tooth border. I want the finished size to be 2" x 4". I know if you use the method where you use squares and stitch 1/4 inch to each side of a center line and cut apart, you need to cut the squares 7/8 larger than the finished size. Example: 2 x 2 finished HST would be made from a square 2-7/8 x 2-7/8.

If you want 2 x 4 Rectangles, do you cut the original rectangle 2-7/8 x 4-7/8?

I bought the packaged 1/2 SQT. thingys a while back so I wouldn't have to use my tiny pea size brain for things just like this! BUT, I will be looking forward to the answer! After all momma didn't raise NO dummy!

lmao My math teacher in 10th grade begged me never ever ever ever to take any job that required math skills, I was hopeless. I went on to become a cash office manager Shocked now thats scary LOL, a wages clerk, scarier still and a book keeper lmao I saw him years later and he asked what I did for work, at the time I was running my own business and I told him what Id done over the years, he laughed and laughed, said I must have just needed practical application to get it lmao
