I want to do a modified saw tooth border. I want the finished size to be 2" x 4". I know if you use the method where you use squares and stitch 1/4 inch to each side of a center line and cut apart, you need to cut the squares 7/8 larger than the finished size. Example: 2 x 2 finished HST would be made from a square 2-7/8 x 2-7/8.

If you want 2 x 4 Rectangles, do you cut the original rectangle 2-7/8 x 4-7/8?

I bought the packaged 1/2 SQT. thingys a while back so I wouldn't have to use my tiny pea size brain for things just like this! BUT, I will be looking forward to the answer! After all momma didn't raise NO dummy!
