Gimpy - They're wonderful!! Are you making them so they'll slip on and off? So you'll have just one pillow form and change the cover each month? If yes: how are you making the back?

Wonderful Gimpy !! You have one in time for St Patricks Day and another for Easter ! I saved all the patterns but never made any of the blocks . I think your border fabrics really make them pop . Thumbup

Golo the border fabric on the bird basket is a Debbie Mumm fabric, its got such a pretty rich chocolate tone, I have/had some in deep green and deep ruby red too.

Qbee yes Im making them to slip on and off each month. Im no seamstress, as far from it as you can get actually LOL. I found a pattern even I can do, the back is simply two pieces cut 9" x 13" then along one long edge of each piece you fold it 1/4" then fold again. Top stitch that edge down. Then lay out the pillow top and overlap the back pieces over it right sides together with the top stitched edges in the middle. Forms like an envelope or pocket. When you stitch it all around the outside then turn in the right way the back has a nice neat spot to slide the pillow into. Im not very good as explaining so I just took a couple of pics, the second one you can see how it just opens up to slide the pillow in. I just made a pillow insert from some scrap wadding and stuffed it.

Thanks HP, I made them but didnt want to make them into a quilt so left them for some time till I came across a way to use them. I like that they are easy to store when not in use and not taking up space!

Helen, those are adorable. I love your fabrics. I gave up on mine. I still have mine and most of them are finished from a couple of years ago when we all got into it together. I didn't do it this time though I did think about it. I just have to many other one's I want to do. I can't keep up the way it is.

BTW: you do beautiful work. I wish we lived closer, you could teach me a thing or two million!

Gee thanks Memaw, what a nice thing to say (but you cant see close up LOL) I wish we lived close too, it would be so much fun to have a real live breathing person to sew with and share my sewing room. You will finish yours one day, mine bugged me till I found a use for them

Maybe you recall I made all of mine into mini-wallhangings for my aunt. I've really wanted to make them for myself, and now that I see Gimp's pillow, I really, really want to do them as pillow covers for myself!

I agree that's the only way to make a pillow cover. They stay on so much
better. I'm getting ready to make some new pillow casses for our bed pillows
and I'm thinking of doing them the very same way. They just look nicer.

Im glad to be getting them done, the ufo's and odds and ends are hanging over my head like a black cloud and I feel pressured to get some stuff finished. Its not fun feeling pressured so I want stuff done and out if you know what I mean. I find things I want to do, new projects and then I dont feel I can/should start anythng when so much is hanging over my head, Im glad to be getting them done and if I ever come up with the bright idea of making triple of a BOM, someone, in the name of friendship, shoot me!!!!

I'm non-violent. Can I just holler at you and call you names instead??? lmao What you did with doing triple-BOMs seems so much like something I'd do! And then part way through I'd be hollering at myself and calling me names!! hahaha

You can holler and call names only if you promise to throw heavy objects in my general vicinity at the same time!!

now technically thats a good TxMary but I should warn you, I actually react to tranquilizers and sleeping tablets - in reverse so I found out many years ago. After a car wreck was given two valium told to take them and go to bed, I did and lay there twitching and tossing and fizzing away till I couldnt take it anymore and got up. Terrified my friends when they saw me, my eyes were blood red like something out of a horror movie and I was hyped up like the energizer bunny on rocket fuel. Back to the hospital we went and they were "Uh oh, ummm well not much we can do about it, most people dont react like that, its not real common. Dont worry, you will be hyper for ohhh, about 12hrs then it should wear off" You'd have thought they dosed me like a kid on red cordial, so, if your game - shoot away lmao lmao

Never mind, don't need a spaced out energizer bunny running around with sharp objects in her hands. lmao
