I'm just going to stitch around the edges. I'm okay if the edge is a little rough on these. I mostly do hand applique, too and turn under the edges. I had thought of doing blanket stitch by machine or maybe satin stitch, but I think I'm just going to do a regular straight stitch.

I will probably do a blanket stitch around all of mine.... with my machine of course....... I can't wait to get to my favorite quilt store to buy some asian fabric for the borders... don't forget to square up all your blocks to whatever size you like but I think the pattern calls for 10 1/2"

It looks great breezy....but I wish i could enlarge it.....trying to see what oriental stepping stones are.

FYI.....according to my daughter "oriental" has become slanderous to those of Asian decent.
It is considered a no no word (like calling blacks the N word)....I don't understand it because Asians come from the orient which makes them oriental...but i guess since I'm not asian I have no say...only to say that I have used the term my entire life and never once in a disparaging way....just thought you might like to know.

Breezie love your stepping stone fabric you used.... I took my quilt in and we decided to quilt it with butterflies and loops thru out the quilt... I will really be anxious to see it when it is done... All you gals did such a great job on your blocks thats why the quilt looks so fantastic...

I think the general rule is if it is a person, Asian is the proper word. If it is something inadament, it is okay to say Oriental. Example would be an Oriental Rug or Oriental Salad.

I think way too many people spend way too much time looking for things to get insulted about.
