It looks great breezy....but I wish i could enlarge it.....trying to see what oriental stepping stones are.

FYI.....according to my daughter "oriental" has become slanderous to those of Asian decent.
It is considered a no no word (like calling blacks the N word)....I don't understand it because Asians come from the orient which makes them oriental...but i guess since I'm not asian I have no say...only to say that I have used the term my entire life and never once in a disparaging way....just thought you might like to know.

We get called Westerners or Caucasians - big deal, you are what you are. Besides, they call us 'round eyes' now thats derogatory LOL. Its not like someone is using the racist term 'slope', Oriental simply refers to anythign to do with the orient/asia - I agree TxMary, people need to pay attention to the big issues.

Love your quilt bonnie and golo, they are both so different, well done

I am working on mine. Got it out about a week ago. Made more dolls, different ones, added fans and .....not gonna tell what else. I think it is turning out good. It is BIG! Cassie loves it. Guess it will be hers when done. Asian fabric is pretty, but not really my thing. ;)

I finished my Asian doll quilt. It might be a while before it is quilted so I thought I would show ya'll the top. It came out pretty big because I added dolls, fans, and the Double happiness symbols from Fat Cat Patterns.

I found a magazine at my LQS with a wall hanging of Kokeshi dolls and enlarged some of the patterns to add variety and I used ideas from other dolls to embellish the ones I had.
The block setting was in a McCall's (?) magazine. Ladies on a tour in China made blocks to comemorate their trip and this block created a secondary pattern that resembled chinese coins so I thought it would look good.

I am pretty proud of this one. Hard to get a pic of it due to its size so I put all the close ups in my album in the gallery.

Golo what happened to the pic of your quilt? It is not showing up and I can't find it in your album. I wanted to show Cassie.
