Please pre-wash fabrics before you cut. 6" squares - 2 cream and 2 blues per person. Don't forget to keep 4 blocks for yourself, So you would send one less than the total signup times 4 (72). Signup ends July 31. Send them to me by August 31. Blues can be a range of blues but blue, not teal or turquoise. Creams can range from WOW to cream to cream and tans with blues but should read as lights.

Golo posted - In the new Quilt Almanac magazine there is a pattern for cutting and sewing half squares... you can make about 9 different quilt patterns with this one square... I haven't decided which pattern to follow yet.... ????

I have thought that would make a nice swap! I have been thinking about doing a blue and cream/white version of this. Maybe we could exchange 6" squares? Like one light and dark per person? You would get more variety of squares, and no sewing involved! Would anyone be interested? The deadline would probably be sometime in the fall. What say ye? Undesided anitas

I have had this idea for a while, so you mentioning it helped, golo! As far as the creams, I am thinking they can be like a bit of blue in them but read as cream or light. If you like the idea of getting more fabric but don't wanna do the HST, you could always do something else with the squares! Oh and golo, I have seen other ideas you can use in the way of settings for these. anitas

I am posting this here only because this is one of the quilts from the magazine... I made this from my scrap flannel.... 140 blocks ... for some reason I cut out 244 blocks so guess I will make another one.... Very Happy I haven't decided whether to put a border on or not... if I do it will be scrappy... So picture this in Blues and Creams

It's just 6" squares of fabric, not HSTs, right?

Will it be centralized? Will we all mail to one person and will that person mix it up and mail the same # back?

(I'm probably in... just looking for some last minute clarification. Because you know what happens when we assume....)

Yes, FB, just 6" squares of fabric. two per person. one light and one dark. Blue and cream. I guess I am the central person unless someone else wants to do it. This is my first time hosting so be patient with me. anitas

Okay, add me to the list. :hammer:

Tho I have another question: Just one pair per participant? So if we were mailing today, I'd send 6 pairs of fabrics?

Sindy over at FatCatPatterns does centralized swaps - she has a webpage that gives some guidelines: FatCat Swaps

That is the way it stands now, FB. Unless some folks want to do more. I do hope to get more people to join, though.

So I'm still a little confused (so what else is new, right? azn ) So we would send 1 cream (light) and 1 blue (dark) 6 inch square for each person?
