Cut my FQs from the Oxford blues collection by Jo Morton. There were two oxford FQs but they wrinkled way too much for my liking. This is just a taste of what you could be getting in the swap.

Those were FQs so only got 6 squares out of each one. Let's make sure everyone is ok with 4 sets per each person, Luvs, OK? Undesided anitas

I noticed when I got home one of my blues had a purple ( in the store it looked a darker blue) in it so won't be using that one... but boy is it a pretty piece of fabric....

That would be ok golo, as long as it looks mainly blue. Some of what I have as ights could go either way. But they do have light in them. Undesided Thumbup

Golo, if it kind of looks blue, I'm good with that. It will all blend together.

And you need some differences! That is why we are doing the swap.; If someone objects to your choice they can simply use it for something else. I am not that picky.

Have a question here...Cam (the friend I made the Krazy Kat quilt for) Well we have started teaching her how to sewing2 quilt. Now, she is wondering if she could join in on the swap. She is not a member of QLR, because she has no computer so I told her I would ask you' all if it would be ok.

PostSubject: Re: New Swap?   Mon Jun 28, 2010 3:32 pm

I'm confused. If we are doing 4 blues & 4 creams per person, by my calculations I need 2 yards of each color fabric a total of 4 yards actually a little more than 4 yards...(2 of blue and 2 of cream) to get the right number of blocks for 18 people. That is a lot of fabric. I don't think I messed up the calculations, but I suppose its possible. I am willing to swap 2 sets per person (4 blocks total - 2 blues & 2 creams), but if you all decide to go for the 4 sets, I will have to drop out of this swap. I hate to be the "party pooper" but that is just more than I want to invest right now. azn

I also rethought my idea of 8 blocks (4 blue and 4 cream). I too came up with needing 4 yards. That's way too much fabric to ship. I only thought about the idea of having enough to make a lap or throw quilt. Once I calculated it to needing 4 yards, I changed my mind.

I am retreating with my tail between my legs and hopping on board with 4 blocks or 2 blues and 2 cream.

Good thinking, actually doing the math. If you think, "oh, it's only 4 squares," I guess it does become a bit of an eye-opener when you're at the post office!! I've been in that position MANY times, but still don't seem to learn my lessson Embarassed

Shocked Ok, I am a little confused here, it is (4 blocks total - 2 blues & 2 creams) right??? need to know what I am in for also...I like the 2 blues and 2 creams total of four squares of fabric for each person right? Thumbup

Anita, would you update us on who is in the swap and the number of blocks, size and what knots needed. :thankyou:
