Two 6" squares = 2 HST's

160 6" squares = 160 HST's

160 / 16 = 10

Each person would make 160 6" squares and send Anita 150 6" squares. (160 - 10). 75 cream and 75 blue. You would keep 10.

That would mean 2,400 6" squares. Shocked

Half cream and half blue.

That means 32 different fabrics.

Cheesy

I was doing the math and trying to figure out how many HST's would be needed for a throw about 60 x 72. Used a little over Golo's number of 144.

Let's all send Anita 2 (maybe 3) fat quarters as a Thank You!

the way I look at it luv.... I cut 72 of one fabric and 72 sq of another fabric and sewed them together and ended with 144 blocks.... that was 10 blocks one way and 14 down .... the squares end up at 5 1/2" after sewing so my measurements should be 55 x77" ... add a border and its a lovely throw... not so bad... scratch

Golo posted - In the new Quilt Almanac magazine there is a pattern for cutting and sewing half squares... you can make about 6 different quilt patterns with this one square... I haven't decided which pattern to follow yet.... ????

I have thought that would make a nice swap! I have been thinking about doing a blue and cream/white version of this. Maybe we could exchange 6" squares? Like one light and dark per person? You would get more variety of squares, and no sewing involved! Would anyone be interested? The deadline would probably be sometime in the fall. What say ye? Undesided anitas

OK.....tell me a little about the colors in this swap. Are the blues "blue blues", turquoise blues, blue prints or what? My QS has a sale next month, 20% off fabric in one shopping trip. Thought I might start looking a bit. Don't want to get the wrong thing or I might have
to start another quilt.
