Gimpy,
Will Schnookie be home soon? Should we extend the closing date?

Linda Im not sure when she will be home, she mentioned she would be gone two weeks but then another time she said she wasnt sure how long she would be. Maybe we could give it a couple of days see if I hear from her?

maybe we can just make the extra one and just assume she would love one of our lovely signature blocks... I mean who wouldn`t you have a good list going now.. but I am sure there are other members `lurking`that can sign their name up...it is nothing to make rail fence and then it is really something to get it from you with your lovely signature on it..

Common gang I want your siggy to add to a wonderful quilt...and to make it scrappy is even better..common Quilters share your kind heart with the rest of us...

We can all make a few extra and send them in, in hopes more people will signup. If they don't I can send them back with the return packages.

Or we can all so extend the sign up date and all you moderators can pull out the handcuffs and stuff to start the torture of those who haven't signed up! lol!

Just for clarification (i'm pretty foggy in general) but you want EITHER white or off white SOLID?
or white with off white print. How dark off white is too dark?

CC,
the center strip should be white to light cream solid, no beiges, or print is ok as long as it isn't bumpy like some print on print is because then it can be hard to write on and may come out unreadable.
Does that make sense! scratch

i am going to dip in my scrap bags today and start the signature blocks after a little shut eye.. how creative is everyone going to be on their signature (i have no question mark on my keyboard so don`t mind its abscence)

I had been in a swap with siggy`s that were just siggy`s and the people were so creative they added a little heart or black crow (it was a prim group) it was very cool cool...

it is great to use whatever scrap you have for these blocks so that there is lots of variety. I have my blocks together that we had done long ago as a fall swap they are now put together as a quilt..and I have a cat block swap I had done with a `canadian group`and have that all together.. lots of `flimsy`s now just to get them quilted`

hope the lurkers are reading some of these posts and getting a little antsy to sign in.. I hear goblins are going to sneak out of their screen and suck them in to cyberland if they don`t sign up by the bewitching 1200hour tonight...

The church across the street hung some quilts this weekend. The best one was a signature quilt made by the members of one family. My best guess based on the fabrics is that it was made around 1920. Only two fabrics were close to the patterns that were made in the late twenties. Each block had one name and her birth year embroidered. The dates were mostly 1896, 1897 and a few in 1904. This block is the classic album block. Thought ya'll might like to see it.

Now wouldn't it be fun if everyone signed up so we had a quilt that had everyones signature on it... that would be so cool....

Redmadder you just put a space and then keep adding the links same as you did for the first photo.

Should we all write the year of our swap or not? Im happy to jazz up my siggy strip, draw something little to decorate it, Betweens could you post some pics of the ones you got to give us an idea what people did? Would love to see.

LOL.. now that chicken is a total hoot!!! you come up with some good ones there golo...

I have made 2 wonderful siggy quilts for members of our fraternal organization when they had their receptions I had the quilts made in strips and ironed freezer paper on the back of them and had pigma pens ready for everyone to sign....they loved them

I would sure love to get a siggy block from everyone in this group...it is too bad that they dont want one from one of us or they would sign up....

Are we extending this for a few more days to give the fence sitters time to sign up?
Bringing this forward:

Block size: 6" finished or 6 unfinished
Block Type: Rail Fence with Top and Bottom Rails 2 1/4" x 6 1/2 and Middle Rail 3" x 6 1/2"
Fabric type: Cotton scrappy with signature area being white/off-white.
Signature Block content: Your Name, Your Forum Name, The Forum Name, City,
State, Year, and a comment if you would like to add one.

I'm wondering if by year you are talking about our birth year? Seems like putting the year this is made will be rather redundent as all of them will have the same date. Would having the date on the lable free up a bit of space on the block for anyone wishing to add a little doodle?

I have made 15 blocks yesterday so I have extras..can make more....very simple block to make.
