I am thinking maybe in the new Year say Mar we should have a quilt-a long with this one. We all seem to want to make it but I think some of us need a quilt a long to get it done if we did it starting in Mar and then doing each part in 2 weeks and then have a show and share we could have it quilted by Christmas... just an idea

I think that's a great idea! clap

I wonder if we had time between now and then to do a mini-swap to come up with some variety for those blue squares... ? It takes eighty-eight 3" squares and forty 3" squares of blue (plus other bits of blue for binding & such).

Hmmm. Undesided Maybe that's too much in too short a time.

Maybe I need coffee8 coffeecup

You mean everyone hasn't already used up their swap squares in a completed project? Shocked I'm shocked, I tell you, shocked!

I like both your ideas betweens and FiberBabble, maybe we could do a blue swap in jan/feb and start the sew along in march. Would you gals take care of your parts, if we say 'pretty pretty pretty please"?

With it being a sew along maybe someone not so sure about doing it or how to might be tempted to join in and get from others doing it, could learn at the same time?

Golo all great minds think alike...

i would like to take on the Sew A long for the pattern should start a new thread for others to nab the pattern that wants to do it...not sure what do you think? or does she already have 1 down...I am not going to get involved with the swap though.. I have a stash full of squares and fq and meteres of blue that I need to use up...

I am in 2 swaps already this year our siggy one and a mapleleaf one on a canadian group I belong too...that is it cause this year will be my finishing year. with quick projects in between.. oh I guess I just stated my new years resolution.. I think I should have copied and pasted from last year..LOL

I just checked in and the last step wasn't on here yet. Maybe because of Christmas she just hasn't had time to put it on. I'll check back tomorrow.

I wandered to her blog and discovered she was going in for surgery on her 'frozen shoulder' on Dec 23rd, what a rotten date to get in for surgery, anyway Im thinking that might be why she is late in posting the final step. We need to check in each day though so we dont miss it

It's done, GC. From Beth's blog 20 December:

"Later today the third, AND LAST, step of Deep Midwinter will be posted. Once I set out to actually write the pattern I found that it fit neatly into three steps, so why draw it out?"

Tracy, I am so thankful that you are so alert. I have the three steps printed, glanced over it and did not realize that it was complete. Geez, feel like I am walking around with blindfolds on. doh

Your not alone TxMary. I'm so sure there are a few more of us right beside you. I know I'm one of them! I'm going to get my pattern out tonight and have a look at it and maybe make my templates.
