I was reading through the directions and they cut a bunch of triangles to sew tog. Can't that be done by using bigger squares and making two 1/2 triangle squares at a time? Isn't the rule to add 7/8 of an inch to the original square?

(I bet this makes no sense to anyone but me. I know what I mean, but it looks funny in writing scratch )

txM, I don't have the pattern in front of me, but yes, you add 7/8" to the desired finished size of a half square triangle then cut a square that size & cut the square in half on the diagonal (before or after sewing!).

You know me, I'll stitch & flip if I have the chance...

I know exactly what you mean TxMary, Im all for cutting squares and recutting, blow cutting triangles that stretch out of shape. Few yrs ago beth was made on the paper triangle method, that pre-printed stuff, wonder if that has changed. Stitch and flip sounds good too!!!!

TxMary that's how I plan to make mine. I don't want to make a bunch of walper-jawed triangles! I can always use the extra for paper piecing! So it's a no waste for me.

I may do that at some point this weekend. I don't think that would be too
soon do you? DD and I are going to Jackson, Ohio to do some shopping so it
may depend on what time we get home Saturday.
We like to go to Consignment shops and Good Will shops to see what we can
find. Gonna see if any fabric shops are there too!

Have a great day. It's raining here and dreary. But we have the 2 oldest GD's
and I've been playing Wii. Now I've got to cut out a serger cover for my
machine and sew. I got my regular machine cover sewn last week and wanted
to get this one finished this week. Today is the day! Maybe! I really enjoy
that Wii. Course I die all the time. haha

Holy cow, I forgot about this! Thanks for bringing it back to 'the top', Memaw.

<sigh> I guess I'll have to dig out the pattern tomorrow & start shopping. Heh. Maybe I'll really try something new and read the instructions first.
Shocked

Well, doggone it, I went and forgot again! doh Tomorrow! Oy! Okay, so Mr. W. and I have doctor's appts in the morning, but when we return I'll start pulling fabrics. This evening I'll elbow Mr. W. out of the way & transfer the instructions from the 'big' computer to my new toy and have a look at them.
