I am actually going to try to get the quilt show BOM done this year...it looks great with all the baskets and I really have a weakness for baskets i figure I can do this and finish up the UFO`s that I am slowly plundering through...

I would love to start that tweets one though too.. I wonder what her birds are going to look like she is going to do something different in every block. I sure hope you are right CC for the center block I am realy hoping so anyways if not I can make a quilt with the 12 blocks and some secondary blocks as the filler...

heres crossing our fingers..

I'm a sucker for birds...I think I'll wait and see how that one looks. Right now I'm practicing technique trying to figure out which method suits me.
Fooled around with back basting technique today, looks nice but seemed very time consuming.

I have all the block and am thinking I'd like to start this next year!
I think I'll take the one new one old project approach next year and see if I can get some old projects done along the way!
I really like this one!

From Erikas blog:

CORRECTIONS TO PATTERNS

http://erinrussek.typepad.com/one-piece-at-a-time/

Hi everyone, I've been getting some e-mails about the fabric requirements for Florabunda so I thought I would do this short post about it. Here are my best guesses for the background and borders. If you followed my tutorial on Sawtooth Borders who will note that I do these borders in a very inefficient way. Hopefully that will help me out because I am over estimating the fabric. Anyway here goes:

Background fabric (blocks and sawtooth borders) 4.5 yards

Borders and sashing 4 yards

As far as applique pieces go I'm just using scraps that go with my color scheme.

I hope that helps and I apologize in advance if I've messed up.

Okay, here's what I've found (and kept) so far. I didn't keep track of the Sampler-Type BOMs (one 12" traditionally pieced block per month), mainly because I "have to" design and/or keep track of TWO such samplers at work all the time. geek

Very Happy Soopah-cute Embroidered quilt blocks, "Birdie Stitches" at http://www.littlemissshabby.com/tag/block-of-the-month/

Very Happy Sindy's newest, "Fiesta" at Fat Cat Patterns http://fatcatpatterns.com/Fiesta.html

Very Happy The beginning of something potentially adorable - a quote from the blog post:
This first design is for the center of a wall hanging. We will launch the embroidery design first, and we will reveal our pieced version on January 15th.
(This one is only free for the month of January, don't know how the rest of the year will go) http://allthingscrafty.blogspot.com/2010/12/january-2011-new-designs-new-ideas.html
She hasn't gotten a "category" for the BOM yet, so I'd guess that new info will be found at the main blog address for awhile: http://allthingscrafty.blogspot.com/

Very Happy "Flowers of Love" is still going on - 6 of 9 blocks have been posted, that I can find: http://www.designsbyfee.com/2010/09/flowers-of-love-free-bom-from-me-to-you.html

Very Happy "Ode to the Blue and Grey" is set to start any time now - a sampler-style (oops, I broke my own rule!). Picture and I expect eventual start page is here: http://www.nancyrinkdesigns.com/free.html

Very Happy The Raspberry Rabbits gal(s) will be starting a new stitchery BOM, "12 of Hearts" on 12 January. That's when last year's "Sentimental Journey Through the Months" will disappear. http://www.theraspberryrabbits.com/dynamic/?page=5

And holey moley - have a look at what's coming on Feb 14 from Denise Russart: http://justquiltin.wordpress.com/about-me/free-patterns-pdf-files/poinsettia-starburst-valentines-day-2011/

Side trip: I just discovered Denise Russart & her blog. There are a bunch of freebies and lots of inspiration there - http://justquiltin.wordpress.com/. I'm not a fan of Wordpress blogs because I find them difficult to maneuver through, but I took the time with this one.

Very Happy And have a LOOK at the BOM she's about to start: http://justquiltin.wordpress.com/2011/01/01/grannys-hankie-bom-recolored/ ! Click HERE for the info about starting this one - on the 2nd Sat of each month, and the previous clues are taken down each month.

Very Happy Now that Florabunda is finished, Erin says she'll be offering a new BOM soon - she started talking about it last August! http://erinrussek.typepad.com/one-piece-at-a-time/2010/08/introducing-the-2011-block-of-the-month-my-tweets.html

Don't forget to download everything you need for Florabunda - the patterns are being taken away on 5 January - and OMG, have a look at her entry into the McCall's challenge. Drool-drool: http://erinrussek.typepad.com/one-piece-at-a-time/2011/01/happy-new-year-oh-and-design-wall-monday.html

Very Happy There's one more "season" left in the Block of the Season from Ellie's Quiltplace; all of the preceding seasons are still posted.

That's all I've got - for now.

A technical note here: Some of these generous designers use scribd.com to share the pdf's of their patterns. For some reason I can no longer get the proper screen to download the patterns when I'm using Firefox as my browser. I've found that switching over to Microsoft Exploder Explorer solves the scribd download problem for me. I am NO-way-no-how recommending that you switch to Explorer from your preferred web browser {shudder} but wanted to let you know what worked for me when I had problems with pattern downloads. I continued to use Firefox and only once in a blue moon use that other program - and then only when I absolutely have to. Very Happy

FB, you did it again... So many beauties out there.... I have picked one for sure and another maybe... I am trying to be good... I think doing 7 BOM last year was a little overload.. I have 4 almost finished.. the rest will be be when I find time .. some are half done and some are saved.. but I think it is great the way you find these and post them for us.... PS .. I use Firefox too so thanks for the tip...

Gee the face adn eyes are well done on the ladybird one, its rare to see a pretty face, they are hard to do. little birdies is cute, love the fresh colour palette, thats sweet, could be converted to an applique and embroidery mixed medium easily too. The just quiltin site is lovely but I have to ask, so often you see stuff designed on EQ programs adn they say it could be done needleturn, fused etc etc but often you never actually see a 'real' quilt worked and made. Is it just me? Im a bit wary of starting something that haasnt actually been physically tried if I make sense

Love all the BOM links though, had fun looking at them, tempted by a couple.......................
