Golo, her site says you have to be a subscribed member only in order to download that BOM. I love it but I won't pay 30.00 a year to be a member just to be able to get a free pattern.

Two of the three boms on angies site are for members only, I think the 30.00 is a bit steep. I'd just as soon buy a pattern now and then.

Deb...I saw erins first block...do you think they will all be of the same two birds?
I'd love to do either this one or her one from last year. I need to get my head organized and find some time. I've voted a few times.

I copied her whole quilt last year including the middle one for free, if you go on down she has put it back up for a quick copy if you need it. this year she just wants us to buy the center one if we want it. I can't afford to belong to pay for anything either but wish I had all of the one she made year before last but you had to get them out of Peace O cakes books, I have one of the books but not the other one, so that will just have to go. She gave us the center free for last year though. Scroll back down and see what you can find. I thought her quilt was pretty last year, all flowers. Norma

I'm just collecting now....I've got a strong urge to learn needleturn, afraid to start a big project, I don't know if I want a quilt with those same two birds in every block...will the foliage be the changing factor? I'm going to let it stew for awhile....might be starting a wedding quilt soon

I really think there will be birds in each block, but not the same ones. You can e-mail her, she is sweet and answers them too. I've talked to her a couple of times and she acted like she knew me and said to write anytime. Smitten Norma

Erin also had it at the beginning of her Floribunda that you had to purchase the middle block and then at the end of the year had it free for a while but she has now got if for sale again due to magazine issues. I will wait to buy the middle part near the end of the year to see if she does the same thing again and post it as a freebie for a limited time.
Calico I posted a link to show you some of the sample drawings she has done it will give you an idea what some of the blocks are going to look like scroll down on the post and you will see them. You also click on the pic to get a closer look

Golo you are already ahead of the game, how many BOM are you doing this year you surprised me with all the ones you got accomplished in 2010!! What a great start you have going

I am finishing up some BOM that I am so happy with my AMG and Country Sunshine are going to be finished this year I am bound and determined. get the pun bound (binding you know he he he) I know it is early in the morning and I am going to do some applique what a great feeling!!

I have printed off the Tweets block it is sitting beside me on the ironing board to let me know that I need to do that one but right now it is only whispering.

Deb, the pattern in the very upper left hand corner of that page is the one she made the center pattern for and the rest of the blocks came from two books of Piece o Cake books. I'd love to make that one too, but look how expensive it would be to by the center and then the two books!! I like her ideas very much and look forward to her patterns a lot. Smitten Norma

GARDEN PARTY full size quilt - applique - started Jan 15 - monthly for 15 months. I love the garden theme. But someone please tell me WHY you need 61/2 yds of background fabric?

Here's another just started: 2011 A YEAR OF WALLHANGINGS. January's is a penquin - too cute and a sneak peak at February's is cool too. I'm going to save these - would make quick gifts when needed.

Annmarie, I just downloaded that first block! I thought what a really cute quilt that would be on our bed. I apparently didn't see where to copy the yardage on this project. I guess I'd better go back and look. I can't see where you'd need 6.5 yds. though. Although looking at my paper it does say your

"background square should be 11" before appliqueing to allow for shrinkage
with stitching."

So maybe you will need 6.5 yds. of background fabric after all.

The penguin is cute, thanks. Not too crazy over the hearts though although I love hearts too stylistic I think?? I'll have to keep and eye on that one. Smitten Norma

She is?!? Would that be the famous Texas Longhorn Penguin? Or Cactus Jack the Cowboy Penguin? lmao

BTW - I learned last evening in a very intellectual pursuit Very Happy (watching Jack Hannah, the wacky guy who brings animals to the David Letterman show) that there are 17 varieties of penguins in the world, and only 5 varieties live in arctic regions.

This is JUST a guess, but I think it's because she used EQ7 to figure the yardage. Maybe when she designed each block in EQ, she took the yardage requirements for that block & just added it to the requirements for the other individual blocks. If a block needs 6 x 18" background fabric to cut up for piecing, my guess (again!) is that the program will tell you that you need yard because that's the nearest 'normal' amount. Multiply that kind of rounding up by the 28 or so blocks in the project, then you get a scary total.

So, EQ users: Does this seem plausible?
