PostSubject: Found A Project I MUST Do!!   Tue Jan 25, 2011 12:55 pm

I was doing the monthly FABSHOPHOP and came across my next 'have to do' pattern. It was actually featured on cover of "Quiltmaker" Jan/Feb 2011 issue. "Jasmine Star"............

But here's the kicker, I am going to make it in Texas Bluebonnet fabrics!!!! What do you think? Will it be just as stunning?

Hummer - That's gorgeous!! I think it will be lovely in Texas Bluebonnets, and I'm confident that you'll choose just the right fabrics. That quilt has solid pinks and greens in it. What colors are you thinking to go with the bluebonnets?

Hummerlou I added the photo for you, its beautiful, really stunning and to be honest i think Id prefer it done in blues and greens, bluebonnet fabric is a fantastic idea, Harris will love that, you could plan to print and frame two or three of his bluebonnet photos to hang on the wall over the bed when the quilt is made. Again, WOW, thats just beautiful and you will create a masterpiece without a doubt

GC, thank you for posting the picture. Yes, DH's bluebonnet pictures would look wonderful with the quilt.

HP, you can piece. I wasn't very good at one time either, and I still have some problems, but you just have to keep at it, you know, practice, practice, practice. hug08

Wow Louann, that is gorgeous. And what a fab idea to do it in Bluebonnets. I can just see it. Go for it, you will make a masterpiece I know. You will put the one in the magazine to shame.

TMM, yes, I definitely would like to find out the 'ins and outs' of submitting a quilt at the show, Thanks.

Golo, yes, I can post the fabrics when I get them all together. I am going to try and use as much of my stash as possible.

I'm so glad you all like the idea! Never hurts to have encouragement from all of you.

Ok, having problems deciding on all of my colors... so have been raiding my stash. Still trying to save some cash since DH is still unemployed. Here is the first 5 blocks of the center medallion. What do you think?

That is pretty Hummer. Very bright, not at all what I was picturing. When you said Bluebonnets I was picturing a soft blue and green with a little lemon or mauve Never thought of red .How wrong was I !!!! LOL
