PostSubject: Re: Sunbonnet Sue's friend "Sam"   Mon Jun 27, 2011 4:33 pm

It's such a beautiful evening that I think I'm gonna go out on the back porch and cut out all my little Sam's!

Then I'm gonna go to my sewing room and iron the wonder under to them.

Next comes cutting out the back ground fabric of which I've bought some. Waiting on the rest to come from Connecting Threads.

My hope is that by the weekend to have them ready to mail out.

NOTICE I SAID HOPE! lol! lol!

Not sure anyone said, but, is anyone putting these on point? I tried it both ways and I though they looked really cute on point. Corner to corner......, but I'll do it either way.

OK so I don't get this wrong. His sweet little head goes in one corner and his stinkey little feet the other? Right?

I really liked it that way the best. I'd rather you all do "mine" that way please. I just wanted something different for a change. I'm sorry to be a pest.

Now corner to corner means a square to me on point means a diamond.... I think we are going for the square... that means his head is in the middle not in the corners... sorry memaw....

Would it be a problem doing the one's for me on "point?"
I'd rather have mine done that way as a change and something
different.

If it's going to cause problems, then just do it on square. I don't want
to be considered a troublemaker and not be welcomed in anymore
swaps again, because I do love being in them.

I plan to do all of mine to sent to you on square.

Thanks Redmadder. Very Happy I don't mean to be. I just want something different and I know once they are bonded on I won't be able to change them.

LOL...I am so glad Golo made it clear. I was so confused. What cornor / point means...lol

I want mine square, but will do a point for those who want. I have a few ideas on what I am going to do. I will see what Sheri says. If I was really good, I would do Alcatraz...and have Sam in a prison suit...lol

Polska, you could still do that. It just calls for a stripped suit! But, oh the possibilities and fun you could have with "that!"

Go for it.

I just can't figure out how to do the island with the buildings on it. My mine is still turning with thoughts of a few ideas with something from SF.

I know the 'enter by' date is passed, but if the members of the group would like to extend it for me, I would like to join. Now that I have my spiffy new machine, I could have a lot of fun doing machine applique stuff. I'll understand if people don't want to break the rules just for me.

Alright QMN!

But I've got a question. Being a little oldfashioned in my approach, these wee darlins are usually on a plain background. I've been looking at some very elaborate quilts made to represent them doing different things, utterly unlike the 1930s versions.

Question is, what are we doing? Cream background or representational fabric.

There I go, getting too verbose.

Patterned print or plain?

I don't want to be too plain if everyone else is going for it.

representational fabric.... but if you want to do your plain because your sam is really busy go for it... Redmadder do you want yours square or diagonal?
