Polska, thanks for hosting this. I got mine today.

My DH came in all excited because he was sure the package was from our son, Sam. HE was very disappointed. I was not. The blocks are great.

Sorry everyone, I have been way below par, not able to lift either arm without pain, thus not all the ironing. Then DH installed something on HIS computer which (because we have a family net) messed up MY computer's print software. I thought I would send you each a card with the picture, at the very least.

I hope DH included the postage. He fussed a lot about doing it, not that he objected to the expense but he claims not to know how. This is the same guy who was a year and a half's pay in debt when I married him because, he claimed, he was unable to understand a budget. I've been straightening him out ever since. If I hear one more time that he is a "simple country boy" I may smack him. this guy is better educated than most people I know.

If you didn't send postage I pd for your postage as a thank you gift.

I think this one is finished, although I MAY put my block on the back, since it just showed up. My original plan was to do a lot of FMQ, including a straw hat in each sashing bit, then sanity reared its ugly head. I am still waiting to see what the rest of you have done.

this is a super warm lap quilt. I used corderoy for the backing and 2 layers of Thermore batting, because sometimes I get really chilly.

Participants, other than me: Polska, Nola, Golo, Linda 2B, SherBear, Bonnie, Redmadder, Memaw4, Redwork

Since I knew I wanted a larger quilt than the blocks would provide, I realized that I needed to make more blocks of some sort. Stars seemed the easiest. It would have been better if my cornerstone stars were smaller so I could do a more interesting border, but when I realized that, I did not feel like cutting them down.

I am glad I jumped into this swap. Tiger cat and I love this quilt.

QuilterMarynel, the quilt is gorgeous! You have done a beautiful job on it. Where do you find the time to do all of these quilts! You're running circles around me!

Memaw, it helps get things done if

1. The house gets cleaned by someone else.

2. There are no local GKs to enjoy

3. DH does the shopping

4. Being retired means there is no paid job to get in the way.

5. Nobody expects me to stand long enough to do 'real' cooking

Hi, not in this exchange since I am fairly new, just reading because I love Sunbonnet Sue and have a quilt top made of her and Sam already.

Anyway, Marynel, I loved your list because those are all on my list as well. Aren't we blessed?
I actually cooked supper last night, I do that about once or twice a week, maybe. But I'm pretty good with desserts. winking

I definitely feel blessed, except about the GKs, whom I would love to have in hand.

Yesterday, we met someone we gave a lap quilt to and had her gush all over us again.

I have made several Sue quilts, including Sue works on the farm and one nearly life sized Sue on a plain background. She was super easy. I have not made a Sam quilt previously, but I made a quilt of a story I wrote about my son, Ray, and his imaginary black unicorn, when HE was about 3. That one took a blue ribbon as Fair theme. I think the judge was being a bit weird, as the theme was something cowboyish, but I'll take the blues wherever I get them.
