He could be panning gold...or on the walk of stars, surfing, visiting Chinatown or the Transamerica Tower (that pointy one), although I like the idea of peeing on a 3,000 year old tree, but that's just me.

I an in the process of making a bunch of SBS blocks with Dresden plate skirts and shawls. My plan, however is to have that quilt done for our fair in August.

Another idea that occurs to me is interacting with our state animal, the grizzly bear. (I do think that it is weird to have a state animal that no longer exists in this state.) My family has lots of bear stories, since we have been here a long time and done lots of camping, etc.

Hmmm, they did a lot of moonshine in those north Georgia mountains. Does his activities have to be legal? Of course he could be busting up a still but I'm certain we never a revenooer on our family tree. Very Happy

Polska - I like the redwood tree idea but not the peeing! Maybe Sam standing in the middle of the big one people drive though.

Redmadder - I think illegal would work, too!

Moonshine is/was not only in the South. My uncle, apparently, supported his step mother and sisters for a year during the depression by making and running hooch across the Sierra on a mule train. He was 14 at the time. The first house I bought had cask racks for the wine the former owner made. I was told he supplied that neighborhood at that time.

Only 14 Marynel !! ...oh my gosh things were different back then . My first ancestor to Australia was a convict girl , transported at only 16 years old. I guess they grew up a lot quicker back then .

What about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, you could have records on yours. Go to this webiste for ideas.

http://consumer.discoverohio.com/wheretogo/default.aspx

I like the idea of the state animal, we have a flag with a bear on it, could do the flower or bird....lots of good ideas.

Redwork can go in Quiltermarynel's place!

It's never too late to join in on the fun redwork. They aren't due till October. You have plenty of time. 5 months.

I'm sorry Marynel you won't be joining us, but do understand with all you have going on right now in your lives! Been there and done that just last year myself. Hopefully next time you'll be able to join us. We'll sure miss your talent though!

Question... is it necessary to do them in cream or white background...???? it might limit us to our state.... I did my SBS with John Deer Background and it was so cute.... Maybe we should leave the block open to each persons discretion... But if everyone wants to do cream or white I will go with that...

So we each sent you 8 blocks? Your going to have a total of 72 blocks? And then we each get back 8 blocks? How am I doing so far?

Golo had a good question. DO they all need to be done on cream background?
It makes no difference to me, but other backgrounds might be really cute with other fabrics....... just sayin'.

I like Golo's idea. That is one reason I am having problems figuring out what to do. I loved the John Deer SBS block. So, its up to you. Just as long as your lock is 10 1/2 x 10 1/2 unfinished, theme of your state we should be good.

Now my brain is moving faster.........

Yes, send me 8 blocks, you get 8 back. Keep the 9th one for yourself.
I believe the police has sent you a pm...lol Hug
