I tried googling...didn't get much...why is it when I really need it, it won't come up, but when you don't...you gets loads of good stuff.... Thud

I have a lot for Alaska...but that is way to different from CA..so, lets see...went on vacation on Grizzly Creek Redwoods. Wondering why they called it Grizzly Creek? Maybe that was when we had them in the state. Its right next to the Eel River. Two days of nice relaxing, listening to the birds (24/7), the rushing water...so nice. No quilt stores.

Next yr we have to do a sports Sue and Sam block swap.

what do you think for the back ground....Redwoods, when you do the stitching, you can make him pee if you want.. lmao

Ok, I am joking. I am thinking of something else now. Let me go do more searching... :readingsmilie:

I have mine and am starting to cut them out. I have 3 little hats and bibs cut out so far. My 2 GD's think they're really cute too. I found 2 really good Ohio themes I think you'll like and reconize. I wanted a third, but of course couldn't find what I was looking for.

Never can when I have money! lol! Or the time! & goodnight.

Well, I am going to get with SherBear and find something for the back ground...I was thinking of using on of my pictures from vacation. And printing it on fabric...but that wouldn't give me a 10 1/2 sq... and it would be to hard to stitch through...

Going into town tomorrow and I may go to the quilt shop! I still need background fabric for my little Sams. They are so cute. But finding the right background may be tricky. I'll see. Might find more Sam fabric! Ohhhh, this is fun.......

Grand daughter is back making her little 9 patch by hand again. I'll take pics and post. She is always wanting to sit on the porch and sew her little blocks together. I'm loving it. I quilt and she sews. Memaw and GD time.

I have the girls 7 days a month. She is 9.

Sounds like fun, having a granddaughter who loves to sew. I hope to have one someday.
They both want a boy, that is ok, because I can still teach him.. Very Happy

This evening I resized my Sam, his britches were too big for the block. He's in Georgia, now to figure out a background. Is that on here somewhere?

The only real trick was drawing the hat, got that figured out.

I'm going to Baltimore to DD's house and there is a Joanns close, will get fabric. They owe me, I taught them framing in the basement last visit.

(*&^$%%^& I just reread the whole post and the block is 10", not 12. Well, there is a print shop near DD's house, just gonna have to size him down again. I'm planning on off white background.

Well, I went yesterday and "tried" to find the background for my little Sam's. I did find one I could use. So now instead of using two different fabrics for my little guys, I'm just gonna have to use one!

Unless.........I can get on line and find what I want....... But to much of that causes me to get a bad headache..... which I don't want.

We'll see....

Redrew Sam today, finished fusing the whole block. Guess I just can't do cute! Is that alarm or menace? Lets just say he would look more comfortable with a shotgun in his hand.

Anyway, the pattern is done and that's half the battle. I'll look for background fabric while in Baltimore. I know their Joanns very well.
