Putting everything together (so far):

  1. Prewash your fabrics (all of them).
  2. Do not use fabric softener or dryer sheets.
  3. Use any fabric that reads 'red' 'green' and 'white OR cream'
  4. Use fusible web for the trees. Iron down only, don't stitch.
  5. Don't embellish the trees.
  6. Make 12 blocks.
  7. Label your blocks on the back. Some people use address stickers, some pin a little paper to the block. Give us some way of know who made the block. Name and location is enough, I'd hope.
  8. Send all 12 blocks plus one 2 by (at least) 8" strip of red fabric from the blocks to FiberBabble.
  9. Mail no later than 15 October. changed date 11 Aug

Tilt the trees:
1. Gimpy Cat - left
2. texasmusicmom - right
3. FiberBabble - left
4. bizkitea98 - right
5. memaw4 - left -no fusible, trace template & add 1/4" seam allowance for hand applique
6. golo - right
7. TxMaryQuilts - left
8. Shemoos - right
9. Marilee - left
10. Linda2B - right
11. BearFoot - left
12. BossLady - right
13. redmadder - left

Ummmm... the cat ate them. *

Oh, by the way, txM, your blocks are late... Evil or Very Mad

*Of course the cat didn't eat them. They're not corn-based. It's an eetoh cat I have - cheetoh, dorito, tostito, frito, she's right there being pushy. Other stuff? Not so much.
And for the record, I gave the chips to Mr. W. For me, a little bit of chocolate goes a long, long, long way and 6 chips was over my limit!

Great, wrote a long post and it vanished................I hate Gremlins angry

Oh well, don't remember what all I said but I have a question (and I hope I don't get kicked off the list for driving FB crazy with my dumb questions Embarassed )
Rules say 12 trees and 1 strip of red. Only 1 or 1 strip with each tree? I understand integrating other reds into the rail fence blocks but will 1 strip make a difference? Got any more beans and chocolate chips to draw me a picture on this?

Here TxMary have a bourbon on me, it will help get your head straight! The answer is you send (# at the moment) 12 blocks and 12 strips of fabric, one strip to go with each block. I think the number of blocks we are making will increase though with the swappers numbers going up. Id like to make a matching pillow cover or frame blocks to go with the quilt for decorating with the extras :-)

Hmmm. Undesided

Yes, Mamu, you're IN. I had a frank chat with BossLady this evening and she is bowing out (I didn't MAKE her do it, I promise). Mamu, you can take BossLady's #12 and lean to the right.

12 blocks. 12 strips. Check the beans and chocolate chip scientifical illustrations. It will all work out. The beans never lie. Trust me.

coolsmiley

So now we're at lucky number 13. There's room for more-more-more!

I'll re-post the list, guidelines and the links in the morning. Smitten

I can't stand it. I've been telling myself since Gimpy first posted this that I just can't take on something else. But. . . I want to be in. Not left out. So, if there is indeed room for more, please count me in.
