What are you listening too, thought we could have fun posting simple answers here.

Im currently listening to the refrigerator burble, laura coughing softly and as if on cue, the kookaburra's just started laughing!

Kookaburra - aussie bird, the ones that laugh. I found a cool site, has short audio of 40 australian birds, when you click to listen to a bird it changes the page, just use the back arrow to return to the list. Bird Calls

Birds in our garden:

Southern Boobook
Tawny Frogmouth
Grey Butcherbird (have a pair of them)
Masked Lapwing (oodles of them)
Little Wattle Bird (oodles of them too)
Australian Raven (ours is a slightly different species being Forest Ravens but the call is pretty much the same)
Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoo (favourites of ours, there were 17 in our tree yesterday being raucous)
Australian Magpie (we have a family of 7, such beautiful song)
Laughing Kookaburra (family of 5)
Sulphur Crested Cockatoo (seasonal)
Galah (usually in flocks)
Barn Owl
Fan Tailed Cuckoo
Pallid Cuckoo
Common Blackbirds (very noisy at the moment as bickering all the time, its mating season, they roll on the ground wrestling and fighting in mid air too)
Common Starling ( we loathe them, introduced mongrels!)
Spotted Pardalote
Superb Fairy Wren
Silver Eye

we have others, very noisy native hens known by the nickname Turbo Chooks because they run so fast, but that lets you hear some of our daily birds Very Happy

Listening to our 9:00 news on TV. I'd rather be reading in bed, but since we got up at 4:45 this morning, I'd probably fall asleep before I got to the end of the first page!

Very Happy thought you might like them

Right now I can hear rain and chicken noodle soup simmering on the stove, in the distance I can hear laura murmuring as she checks out different things under her microscope

I have my window open and can hear the leaves blowing across the driveway and sidewalk; traffic noise in the distance, dog snoring in the next room. Very Happy

For the past few weeks I have heard nothing but the hammer drills on the hill behind us where they are breaking up rock to put in a Highway bypass. Constant thumping 24/7. Will probably go on for months. cry2

Its quiet so far. Sound of the heater blowing warm air, kitten scrabbling in the background, long as she's not climbing up my bare legs or pouncing on my ear and scalp. Reminder: just breathe.
