Let's see. Finish binding on four nap quilts, ship to Atlanta, finish Sunflower quilt before it drives me mad, only have borders down the side to quilt, work on Alphabet quilt for DGD, trim little HSTs from Alphabets for Grape Basket block, oh yes, finish 50 blocks for Hobo quilt in one week.

Alright now, ya'll quit laughing. I still would like to quilt 7 more nap quilts before Christmas, they only take a day to finish. But theres the rub. SIL left this morning for deployment, houselhold will be in mourning for awhile, time to rally my support. They'll be so irritated at Grandma insisting on cleaning house they'll won't have time to miss Daddy so much.

Keep us in your prayers. Its so true that families also serve.

redmadder hope SIL stays safe.... good for you getting 50 blocks made only six more to go... I cut out 3 more tonight at open sewing... When they say cut out 12 triangles I usualy cut 6 squares of two different fabrics and sew them diagonally to make 1/2 square blocks... easier than individual triangles...

Wait a minute. 50 blocks are only on my wish list. So far I've only made 4 but ya'll know that's cause so much is ahead on the list. The nap quilts go out today. The binding is made for the Sunflower quilt, its is all done except for that.

I've been using Elmer's School Glue for bindings and now it goes pretty good. I sew the binding onto the front, turn it over, glue and iron right on the seam. Then I turn it back to the front and stitch on the binding just inside the seam so it looks good on the front and catches the binding edge on the back. This is not something one can do with pins and the glue washes right out.

DD and friend will stroll thru the door any minute. I'm a prophet, there they are. Will try to get on later, oh no, so much for everyone going to school. Gotta go see what the problem is. Ya'll keep me in your prayers, I'm subject to running down the street screaming.

Ah redmadder....missed the part about it being your wish list...I just thought you were super human!
Thats how i make my 1/2 inch square blocks too...doesn't mean they come out even and have started making them extra large and cutting them back. I do struggle with the math though I must say.
I use elmers on my binding too....i make a glob on a scrap piece of fabric and take the head of a pin and draw it through..get a bead on it and just put the smallest dots of glue, then press with iron.

Looks like some challenging blocks in these coming months. I've got them marked in the book and will try to get caught up with Dec and Jan.
I have chosen the two blocks for February, if a moderator could please add them to the master list on page one of this thread:
