Memaw..I'd love to see your frame! I'm excited for you. I use a hoop that has an attachment that lets me sit it on my lap and it keeps it raised up to just the right height for me. The hoop is about 22" across. I have a stand I can set it on to make it a floor stand..but it hurts my back to lean forward so I kick back in my recliner and sew. Having a nice frame sure makes a difference!

Thanks Chris. Those are my colors for sure!

I'm so glad you received it. I always worry when I sent things like that in the mail. Thanks for letting me know.

I'll post pictures of the frame later this week. I quilted on my project Sunday night and just love the frame! I'll be able to do large or small quilts now. Yee Haa :party-075: Party time at my house!

Funny you should ask that today. I have my table topper just about done. The top is done. Just have to layer it up and quilt it. I hope to have it done tomorrow, so will take pictures and post them! :D

Annie,
How did you do your sawtooth on you pattern swap. It looks so small. I'd PP it but I'm not sure thats the quickest or most accurate way? Inquiring minds want to know.

I just cut squares, then cut them on the diagonal..and fed the paired units through the sewing machine. Then sewed those stitched squares together to make a long strip of them. The squares finish at 1 1/2" not too bad. I hear a lot of people say they are afraid of triangles and they avoid them, but if you feed them through evenly they aren't hard. You can even put a piece of tape, draw a line or stick a stack of several post it notes on the bed of your sewing machine to run them along if you feel unsure.

She is such good company and quiet.....OK so you want to know how I know it's a girl........cause I said so! Her name is Patches. She's some kind of Calico fish. She is grey/white/and orange. Beautiful. Smitten It was love at first site!

I'm happy to hear to have a sewing buddy that makes you smile. lovehearts

As far as needing carpal tunnel surgery on both hands..ask your Dr. for an MRI of your neck first. My Neurosurgeon ordered one as a last minute thought before doing my hands and found the trouble was in my neck..just affecting my hands. My SIL had her hands done and had little improvement. The Dr. ordered an MRI AFTER the surgery wasn't successful and found her trouble originated in her neck too! Just a thought...

Well, I barely made it (it is still today), but here is the picture of my Table Topper.

Cottonpicker sent me the wonderful pattern. I think I will make this one again only with Christmas colors and make the center circle a little smaller so it will look like a Poinsettia.

Bearfoot, I went to the gallery first and seen your project finished! It is beautiful to say the least. I wish mine were done. I wanted to quilt it by hand, but I'm thinking I might need to do it by machine if I want to get it done by the end of the month........

Hmm...it's now the 25th and so that means I only have 5 days to get it finished. I better get going hadn't I?

_________________________________________________________________________

AnnieOakLeaf, I'm having a test done on the 9th. I believe it's called a EMG? I know it has something to do with shocking or current going through your nerve or mussel system some how!

Maybe it will shock some sense into me! lmao The dr is a specialist so I'm sure he's gonna do everything he can to keep from doing surgery or he should anyway.

The EMG will measure nerve responses and how your muscles react to the current. I had that done too. It just shows that there IS a problem..not what's causing it. Maybe mention the MRI to check the cervical spine to your specialist and see what he thinks? I think Dr.s tend to look at the symptoms we have..and treat those instead of looking for the cause of the problem. It's just the way they're trained to think. It doesn't hurt to ask questions. The Dr. I have as my Primary care..likes that I ask questions..and knows if I don't understand what he tells me..I'll keep asking. I try to go along to DH's appointments because he gets in there and is like a deer in headlights. He forgets to ask questions and he forgets what the Dr. tells him. :hammer:
Good luck..and I hope they find a good solution for you. Hug

AnnieOakLeaf are all men like that or what? Mine won't ask questions either and then gets a little ticked when I do. Well I wanta know what to expect and all that kind of stuff. He just goes along with what the Dr. tells him. Not me! I ask. Enquiring mines wanta know!

I will ask about an MRI though just to be sure before he does decide to cut. I just don't want put on anymore meds. I'm just not sure all these medicines are good for our body when it comes to long term.

I'll keep you updated.

thanks,

OK mine's not done! So who do I owe and how much? cry2 I'm really trying though.

I will be having carpel tunnel surgery on both hands. The first one will be on Jan. 12 and then again on the 26. No way to get around it. My hands are in pretty bad shape. After that I hope to be quilting away like the crazy woman I am. lol!

Maybe we'll look at doing this again in June.... then we could make something for a Xmas gift.... so everyone keep this in mind for a future swap.... maybe we can find a pattern on the internet to swap... thats how I got mind this year... so no postage was paid.... their are plenty of free patterns.. so keep your eyes open for future use..... most fabric brands will give out free patterns and so does magazines....
