OK my curiosity is piqued, was just talking to mum, she tells me that some of you are going to colour in or paint your birdie blocks like she is. Id love to see some pictures please!! When mum started the blocks she thought they were a bit bland, so did I. They are cute as could be but a bit wishy washy so I suggested she use her water colour pencils and colour/paint the birdie blocks to give them some 'oomph' and she liked that idea. Anyway, I cant see hers but Id love to see what you others are doing. Any chance of some pics ???

I'm wondering what everyone uses to transfer your embroidery patterns on to fabric.

I just had a blue water soluble pen ruin one of my Birdie Stitches blocks- it bled all over when I sprayed it to make it disappear. Any suggestions what I should do to fix it? Alot of work went into that block - so frustrating. Thud

Ouch! I have been using tranfer-eze (sp?) You print the image with your printer then peel it off and it sticks to you fabric. After stitching it you soak it in cold water t o disolve it.

Hope someone can save you block! anitas

The only thing I can suggest buzzysma is to soak it in cold water and hope it disappears . I have had it keep reappearing in different places on a quilt after soaking / washing. Don't know why it does that sometimes. I am NOT a fan of them on the whole. I just use a light box and pencil to trace off mine but of course it has to be fairly simple . Anita I have never heard of transfer -eze. Sounds interesting , must see if I can find it.

I use the Frixion pens from the office supply store. When you iron them, the lines disappear. I have read that if you use the pens on a dark fabric, it will leave a faint line when you iron but since my stitcherie backgrounds are always light colored, that is not a problem for me.

And like HP, I often just use a mechanical pencil and lightly trace the pattern. Good luck getting the blue out.
