Ok I know, it seems early but then its not really, we need to start organising our Secret Santa Swap for this year. First thing to organise - who wants to run it????

Everyone happy to make it the usual, gift handmade or bought, value no more than $10, well we always did $10, should we increase it to $15 this year - whats everyones thought?

I want in! It's always fun. I'm ok with increasing or keeping it the same if it's a stretch for anyone....I'm happy with either way.

I'm in. I think $10 is good. But if it needs to be a bit higher, that would be fine.

Running it is not hard Sherbear, You keep a list of who is joining, set a deadline for joining and a deadline for mailing. On the deadline for joining, you draw names for everyone to send their gift too, keeping them secret of course lol! , and P.M. everyone the name and address of who they are sending to. You can get addresses by P.M.ing people.

Then you just keep reminding everyone to get their tushes in gear and get their gift out on time. Except, Golo, you never have to remind her, her's will be sent before you tell her her name. lmao

I can run it if everyone else is busy. I don't mind.

I'm in and I don't mind the increase either. Whatever you all decide is fine with me. Where do we put our likes and dislikes this year? On here might be a good idea. That way the new members won't have to go looking and get lost. Or me either! I get lost enough the way it is. lol!

I think I'll admire all your work from the sidelines too....feeling rather uninspired lately. Still have to get brother in law and his kids stuff done from sis' clothing. Keep pushing that back.

This sounds lit so much fun but will also watch from the sidelines. I have enough stress and don't want to add anymore until I can get this surgery over and back on my feet. But I hope people post pics of the swaps. Love to see what others receive.
I'm one of those people that sit at Christmas and watch other open their gifts so I don't miss anything. I am always the last because of watching others!!

I'm with you sewn3, I like to watch my kids and grandkids open their gifts. I could care less whether I get any or not. I just wanta see the expression on the faces of each one as they open their packages. That tells me they either like it or they don't!

I've seen some odd looking faces in my time.

Sew many ways to read that. lmao lmao

Y'all remember, if you can't/ don't want to make something but want to join, you can buy a little something instead. Every quilter loves getting a little tool or some fat quarters. That why we have a $ amount. hug08

Oh yes, FQ's are always fun to receive........ or a new pattern........doesn't have to be homemade. Doesn't have to be BIG. Even a gift card works! Lots of shops on the internet to get those or even a Joanns...... just some ideas.

You can regifit something too, thats fine, a pattern you no longer need, a fat 1/4 you dont want, a cute note pad, a coaster. Doesnt have to be quilty, I have recieved a box of cinnamon apple tea before as part of my gift and that just made my year. So dont think you have to make something, a little something, chocolate, ribbons, buttons, anything - come on ladies, dont miss out, wont feel like xmas without you part of the swap, please reconsider, please......

Sorry Ive been absent, getting there with organising but Im here now, looks like Alicia is happy to host this year, thats great, thanks so much, will leave it in your capable hands to sort lists of who is in, of course count me, Laura and Mum (Bev) on the list Very Happy You can set the value limit and post by dates etc. Hug Thanks Alicia!!

OK Ladies...here we go......

Shall we set a deadline for signups for November 1st?
Mailing by December 10th?

This is my first time hosting Ladies..... so any advice will be gladly welcome :)

I agree Ladies doesn't have to be quilty, homemade...can be a regift etc.... pass on some fabric, fat quarters, used patterns, books, or anything some wants to gift....

One note, for those who get the overseas gals, you must mail earlier than that.

Other than that, I am in!

Yeah Mouse, it will be fun to have you.

One year Memaw sent me a little sewing stand that holds a spool of thread and a thimble and there is a little stuffed snowman holding some tiny tiny scissors. He can be a pincushion but I could never poke him with a pin. It is sew cute and sits on my bookcase. I always think of Memaw and my friends here when I look at it. It is a lot of fun to do this.

Around Christmas, you might want to allow a full 2 weeks for mailing overseas, just to be safe. Trust me, it is the longest 2 weeks waiting to see if it made it. Thud

Are we opening when we get them or waiting? (I think we might as well open when we get it if we want to because I seem to remember that we have some people who just can't wait....they end up with a "booby" prize. lmao lmao lmao )
