I got mine, too, and the pattern is great and the buttons are so cute. It was here when I got home from DD's and love it. I can't believe you just do those on your own, Gimpy. So talented. I thought I had put that on here already but maybe I did not hit the send button or put it in the wrong place.

Helen, don't worry about the paper size thing. I thought it was kinda funny when it was all over. It was a good mental exercise figuring out what to do. Very Happy

Still feeling lousy, coughing non-stop, and might have to sleep in the recliner tonight so DH can get some rest. Tomorrow is a work day for him. Oh well, I'll be fine soon.

I've been on antibiotics and Mucinex since Tuesday. The antibiotics cost $4 and the Mucinex was $22.99. As I mentioned on another thread, it's the cough that's driving me crazy.

Glad everyone is recieving their patterns, when are we going to start the first block/blocks? Which block should we do first, should we vote on which one we want to do first? I found some fabric, cream with white snowflakes on it in my stash, was able to buy a half metre more so I have all I need for backing of the blocks. Has anyone else thought about colours or fabrics? Is anyone going to embroider theirs? Im doing applique Very Happy

I have been considering embroidering and coloring with crayons or water color pencils since I haven't tried either yet and have been looking for a project to try it on. But I really love applique too. scratch What color is a plum pudding? Not an item I am familiar with.

It is your design, I think you should start us off, picking whichever block you want. Heck start from the center and work your way out if you can't think of a better way to do it. lol!

I was wondering about background also, the snowflakes sound good. Any other ideas? I will definitely applique it.

Plum puddings are brown, usually a darkish brown - they are made with lots of dried fruit, sometimes they are more a golden brown, they are served with some form of custard poured over them, brandy custard or plain.

I hadnt thought that plum pudding isnt an american tradition? Well maybe we should start with the plum pudding block then?

Bobbie what about a cream or off white with a red or green fleck, kinda xmassy but not overpowering? This is the fabric I got, its impossible to get a photo of, its a soft cream with the snowflakes in white

Does Golo have hers finished? lol! She's sew fast I just wondered!

How about May? That would give us close to 8 months. But I'm happy with whatever everyone decides. They're all going to be different and all very beautiful....

If we do it across 7mnths then starting in May would give us the last blocks in Nov which falls into the start of the holiday season and then we wont have time to finish it for xmas. What if we start in April, that gives us our final blocks to do in what, ummm in Oct, so then we have nov to allow for catching up and finishing before december/xmas. Does that sound right? My head is so stuffed up Im not sure Im counting months right azn

I'm also thinking of doing a different applique for the plum pudding. I don't even know what plum pudding is. It looks like fruit cake.

Oh, I'm also thinking applique. Although, it would be nice to embroider so I'd have a portable project.

Sure wish I could do them in those colored pencils you use but can't remember the name of them or where to get them or exactally how to blend them right
