PostSubject: Christmas Button/Charm swap   Fri Nov 16, 2012 3:25 pm

Some of us participating in the Christmas quilt along Helen designed for next year have decided to do a Christmas button/charm swap. The swap will not be until Jan or so but the Christmas buttons/charms are out now soooooo......
This is who I have signed up so far:

TXMaryQuilts
Memaw
txmusicmom
Golo
Jill
Redwork
Gimpy Cat
Bev (Helen's Mum)
Mamu
Shemoocows

If you would like to join the button/charm swap, you can, even if you are not going to do the quilt a long. Just let me know by, hmmmm let's say Nov 26. That will be the cut off date to join the swap. But don't wait to look for buttons/charms. I went to Hobby Lobby this week and they were almost wiped out.  Shocked  I couldn't believe it. Glad I got mine earlier.  whew

This is my master plan. Everyone send me 12 buttons. I will send you back 12 buttons from other people. Now obviously we cannot sign buttons like we do blocks so we will just have to be content knowing that we have buttons from all over. You can put the info on your label if you use them on your Christmas  quilt a long.

Now the big question....Is 12 a good number for everyone? Do you want more or less? We have 10 swappers so far so 12 seemed good to me. Let me know your thoughts on this and then I will do whatever I want to anyway.  lmao   lmao  lmao Just kidding. Y'alls ideas are important to me so PLEASE let me know.   hug08

Here you go Alicia. It is a design that helen drew and we thought we would do a quilt a long. The buttons will help tie everyones' projects together.

Christmas buttons, that sounds easy but I don't know what kind of charms you mean, little medal ones to be sewn on? I have never bought those. I would like to take part.

Yes, those are what I'm talking about Bobbie. I got them in the jewelry dept. at Crafts 2000. But I'm sure Joann's has them too. BUT, you don't have to sent CHARMS if you don't want too. That's YOUR CHOICE.

TxMary, Please don't feel you need to send me extra. I bought plenty! I thought we were going to be sending 3-4 per person each! Then you posted just send 12, I was thinking oh, I have so many packs I bought so I'll just send extra. Mine are more charms that buttons.

I really wasn't sure what amount to do Memaw. Some folks found plenty, some folks didn't. That is why I was asking what amount was good with everyone. We still have time to figure it out. Sign up closes Monday and we will have a final head count and go from there. Very Happy

Teehee......talked to DH tonight....he went and got my button boxes and put them in the car to bring to me so I can pull out some for the swap! Didn't take them to SCarolina with me and was just going to buy some. He's coming to Ft. Worth tomorrow night after work. (Four hour drive from Houston). I'm currently here in Ft. Worth at my parents' house....flew here directly from SC. Picked up some cute Christmas ones today at JoAnns. Don't have any charms......Hobby Lobby?

I didn't find charms at Hobby Lobby TMM but I was looking in the Christmas craft section. Memaw found hers in the jewelry dept.

Now I've had enough of Memaw and her charms. She's just showing off because she lives near Crafts2000 and can get charms when the rest of us can't find them. I think she should provide charms for ALL of us and be done with it! She's a rascal, you know. (For those of you who might not know, Memaw and I are best friends, and this is all said in a loving way.) :santa1:

I have more charms that I know what to do with! However, "Jill" won't be getting her share........ because she's the naughty one on here! I know she's just jealous because I have the Crafts 2000!

But, she has Hobby Lobby! And yes, WE are the BEST of FRIENDS. I'd be a total wreck without her.

Im in the doghouse, didnt tell Miss Laura about the swap, she is snakey with me now and highly offended and yes, she would like her name added to list, I believe her comment was "Mother, how could you have joined both you and Nana and not thought of me, that's made me rather sad" Thud

Better get her name on the list lmao
