I'm making cookie dough for DS in Florida and sending them whenever I get them baked. He likes the plain cookies--chocolate chip, peanut butter and sugar cut outs. He is not a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, he supports the Michigan Wolverines (fellow Ohioans will recognize how wrong that is lol) and even though my son in Ohio likes OSU, he doesn't eat peanut butter or chocolate (everyone recognizes how wrong that is), so I don't make buckeyes. I love them, but don't want them in my house--too tempting!

I have a great buckeye story.
My mother and sister in law took a cool fall day to make hundreds of buckeyes. Dad and brother were working outside doing final lawn maintenance before winter set in.

Mom and SIL Sandy made the peanut butter middles, rolled them put them on cookie sheets and set on the back porch to firm up before dipping in chocolate. When they took the 2nd sheet out to chill a couple were missing. Not on the ends or next to each other, just random balls. They took the 3rd and 4th sheets out to see the same thing. Dad and brother walked by and Mom scolded them. Said you can take what you want but please just take from an end row. They both denied snitching the buckeyes. Mom was getting steamed that they would lie to her, not that they would sample. Sandy took a tray out just in time to see a chipmunk filling his cheeks with peanut butter balls!!!

Mom and Sandy apologized to Dad and brother. Took the trays back in the house immediately!

Maybe a brushtail possum might pinch them here at night, the ravens would during the daytime for sure, no chipmunks though, or squirrels.
