I wouldn't mind buying the $5 ruler (Fit to be Geese), however, $22 for the other one I kind of balk at. Although that is an awesome pattern. I like the sashing the best on that pattern. with those colors, I'm not sure I would care what 12" block was used in it, the sashing is the eye popper.

Here's one from Sulky called, I Love Sewing - kind of a sampler. This quilt is characterized by a combination of patchwork, appliqué and hand embroidery.

Here is another by Aurifil Stitchery. It is called Rock & Roll. Each month a designer will create a block based on a R&R song. It starts on the Jan 3 post on this blog:

Great selection of BOM's there Golo. I think I just lost about 45 minutes browsing..some nice wool ones too...but the wool ones are cotton background...have you ever seen that? I'd love to do a wool but at this stage its stash I don't have.

Is it a UFO if its leftover from a finished project and you just like the colors and want to make a small item?

I've never done a BOM, and I'm just curious how many of you do, plus how many do you do each year?

Well, now, Jill, there's a big difference between how many I start each year (average 4) and how many I finish each year (um... ½)

doh

On the bright side, I have collected enough BOMs throughout the past years that if I were to lose internet forever I wouldn't ever be without patterns to make.

I dunno. I think I heard if you made even ONE cut in it, it's a UFO. I have a UFO that is labeled as such because I traced the pieces, then fused ONE onto a scrap I liked and started ignoring it. lmao Did you start the new project in any way at all?

I usually do one BOM a year and then I procrastinate for a while and put it on my UFO list a few times. Smaller things get finished faster than bigger ones with me, so if I do mini quilts out of a BOM, that gets a lot further than the one I started I dunno how many years ago and is STILL being hand quilted.

I'm kinda bummed cuz I don't have any BOMs right now..... Oh wait, I do. I just don't wanna do the last month on Shivery Snowman, but did finally cut the background for January today. I'm still looking for a new one for this year!

I will never be someone who says she has no UFOs. I have no problems starting something new when I want to. It's finishing I have trouble motivating myself with!

I love doing a BOM.. and try to do one every year... one year I think I did seven of them and decided that was way tooooooo much.... so now I try to do only one on line and I am doing one with a group of gals... and I did see another but I think I will just make it up because it is so cute. and I am copying one to do later, but I find I usually don't do those so I will l probably work on it when I feel like it... Its embroidery so it can go where I go... I hope you give it a try, Jill.. I did buy a plastic case to keep it in, makes it easy to find each month..
