Well where were we before the ceiling fell in?

Block for September was chosen by Linda (Coronation Block)
Bratt posted first and won September Bonus Choice and she was still thinking.
I think we are still waiting for an eligible poster to win October Choice. If you have not won a month yet now is your chance!

And you don't even have to have your other blocks done and posted yet to be eligible to pick October!

For those who missed it, Linda's pick for September was Coronation.

I've decided on the bonus block and just have to make it first. But, I don't want to post before we have our October winner. That's just not right to me!

Jessie,

You don't have to do TWO from August. I picked Rhode Island which was a paper pieced pattern and many including myself decided it was a bugger But there was an ALTERNATE regular pieced block which was Rising Star.

I think y'all are gonna have to wait another day or so for the bonus block. I got it cut out and started, then my phone rang. I'd been waiting for the past two days very impatiently for this call and I'm currently bouncing off the walls. My hours at work were cut from 40 to 20 three weeks ago and I've been looking for something new either PT or FT to help offset my loss of income. I'm officially back to FT in two weeks!

Probably not a real good idea for me to be sewing/ironing when I'm this excited!

Now what to do to celebrate...hmmm.......

Paws, there is nothing that says the blocks have to be done in order or that you can't do this month's and win the pick for next and then play ketchup with your other blocks.

Bratt, I thought that was one of the rules, that the blocks all had to be done :?: .
But, I still can't get to my room yet to pull of fabrics and cut them :( .

There is always 2009.

Insufferablebratt is right Paws...you only have to have all the blocks done for the quarter to be able to pick the Bonus Block (the next one isn't till December). In order to pick the October block, you just have to be first with the September block...unless someone has already posted and I missed it. Embarassed

Hummerlou...I love your Rhode Island block, I saw it in the gallery last night, I love the way you have fussy cut the hummingbird.
Bratt...thank goodness, these are tough times and most tough on young adults. DS has an interview today himself
Golo....very nice block, very crisp looking
TXMary...it told me I wond a Nintendo Wii....if you follow the links you will fill out a very long survey and you must sign up for credit cards and other things that will cost you money.
These have been on the internet for years.
Paws...don't give up yet we still have November too (do we have december?)

Quilt Along for 2008 Rules and Blocks
on: January 01, 2008, 05:58:23 PM

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are the "Official Rules" of the Quilt Along for 2008.

Rule #1 Have fun!
Rule #2 There are no official rules!
Rule # 3 Refer to rule #1

My thoughts on this Quilt Along:
I will announce the block...I picked "Stars" as a theme this year. All patterns and instructions can be downloaded from www.quilterscache.com
All blocks are 12" finished. There will be 12 blocks (one each month till December 2008) and 4 Bonus blocks (one each quarter ie March, June, September, December)
There are no signups for this. There are no deadlines as such. You play when you want to. Post pictures as you finish your blocks...I think there is already an album set up for us.
Fabric choice is up to you.
The "twist"....the first person to finish the first block AND post the picture of it in the appropriate album...gets to pick the February block. The first person to finish the first 3 blocks AND post the pictures gets to pick the first quarter BONUS block. Keeping in mind the theme is "Stars" and it needs to come from Quilter's Cache.
The "catch"...you can only pick the block once during the year (or twice if there aren't enough participants). I will pick the block if the person who should be picking the block doesn't want to or can't for some reason. The Bonus Blocks will be chosen by the person who has the 3 blocks of the quarter finished AND posted. Again, you can only qualify for this once during the year.

January Block - Matha Washington Star (First block made and posted by QuilterMaryNel )
February Block - 54 40 or Fight (First block made and posted by Calico Chris...priveledge gifted to Golo to pick the block)
March Block - Twisting Star (First block made and posted by Bin4givn)
1st Bonus Block - Dolly Madison Star (First to post January, February, and March blocks - QuilterMaryNel)
April Block - Star (First block made and posted by Tlcquiltnut)
May Block - Memory (First block made and posted by Anita )
June Block - Morning Star 2 (First block made and posted by Insufferablebratt)
2nd Bonus Block - Card Basket (First to post April, May, and June blocks - Golo)
July Block - Margaret's Choice (First block made and posted by Calico Chris)
August Block-Rhode Island or Rising Star (First block made and posted by Linda2B)
September Block - Coronation ?
3rd Bonus Block - ?(First to post July, August, and September - Insufferablebratt)

Pookie, Coronation was the last one posted.

I will post the bonus block after someone wins the October pick by posting a Coronation block and that person has not yet chosen a block.

You do not have to do the blocks in order to win this, and I'm getting antsy here. I wanna post my funky star, but I feel I need to wait for the time being.
