PostSubject: Quilts of Valor   Fri May 17, 2013 11:09 am

I thought I would make a topic for Quilts of Valor....since I keep posting photos of those that I quilt.

Here are four foundation strip pieced quilts. I was told that these blocks were done by Veterans for QOV.

this pictures show the top first and then the back with the quilt design

I quilted geometric shapes on these...this one is triangles

this is sorta like a square in a square with a twist

this one is circles called Target practice..

this one is just swirls

Nice looking quilts.

I have a couple of those pantos. Cassie is actually quilting a quilt with one right now (what you call a sq in a sq with a twist)

Very nice, Mamu. Have you been quilting very long? I probably have you confused with someone else, but I was thinking you just got your machine a couple of years ago?

Those are beautiful, Mamu. It is so nice of you to do that for others. I remember how nice it was to have someone to quilt the one QOV that I pieced. Thanks for being so generous with your time.

Yes Jill... I got my machine in March of 2011...but I wasn't really able to use it until June because of needing to correct some things that the former owner had done to the poor thing.... now Pandora and I have a better understanding...she does have 'those' days that I could take a sledge hammer to her, thus her name!

Mamu, absolutely beautiful work! Give yourself a nice pat on the back! Love the colors as well! My goal is to have a long arm quilting machine some day! I recorded a show off cable last night called "Quilts of Valour". Not sure what it is about yet, but anxious to wacth it.

I just came across this site and thought I would post the link here. She has several quilts listed here as mystery quilts, but if you click on one and then click on the last clue offered, scroll down and it will show you the finished quilt. Very, very good patterns that could be used for other quilts besides the QOV.

I just finished quilting five QOV.

I quilted flags on this one...

I just quilted stars all over this one..

I decided to do a geometric shape on this one... triangles inside of triangles

the back

did more stars on this one

the back

This one is a panel and I decided to do a grid pattern on it so the quilting wouldn't take away from the panel look

the back

I still have a couple more to do and then I am done for the summer....whew
