PostSubject: Scrap Swap   Thu Aug 01, 2013 5:54 pm

This idea was mentioned and I thought I would throw it out there and see who is interested. Thinking maybe prepaid box from post office (size to be determined) stuuffed as full as you can get it of whatever scraps you want to get rid of in exchange for a new set of scraps. Add some "new" to the old and make them more fun.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Are you interested in swapping?

Have you figured out a time period yet? I think this would be fun, but won't be able to do this until early October.

No, we haven't set a time yet. I'll work on the details this coming week or so. Have to move Cassie next week so just getting some input right now.

According to this website, their small box is $5.80. I will try to pick one up next week and see what I can stuff in it versus a big envelope. I will see if the weight makes a box a better deal.

I don't mind the $5.80 TxMary.  I think the box would be so much more sturdy.  And we could reuse it later on......

Not on your life, dear friends. But I will happily send a large envelope o'scraps to everyone who PMs me with their address.

Seriously. I cannot walk in my sewing closet (again) and I've just about reached the end of my rope.

Thud

I'll happily send the postage to anyone who just wants to get rid of scraps. I'm addicted to scrap quilts and the more variety the better. I'm headed to Ohio to meet the new GS next Friday and will be back around the 23rd.

Redmadder you will be here the same week I am gone. Too bad we won't be able to catch a lunch somewhere. But seeing that GS is the most important part of your life right now I am sure. So give him an extra hug and kiss for us all!!

I'll be in Ohio until the 23rd. Does my son drive all the way to Cincinnati? Sarah's family lives there and he works in Youngstown. She and the baby will be joining him. I know so little. He's so darling, I'll post pictures.

Sorry, wrong thread. I can see a paycheck is going for postage, oh goody. PM me, I'll send money orders till the bucks run out. I'm so tired of seeing the same stuff, its hard to get inspired. I just ordered a feathered star book from Amazon and want to do a scrappy with that pattern.

Maybe that is the way to go with this thread. Pack up a large box and see who wants it for the postage. Anyone into pink? I'll try to pack the box tomorrow, got to work today.

PINK!!! Going once, going.....

Memaw, I'll be in the Youngstown area. Frank Lloyd Wright's 'Falling Waters" house is in SE Pennsylvania. Want to see that. Unfortunately my younger son has trips planned for the two weekends I'm there, he's the one without a child. Maybe he is wise to be gone, otherwise I'd have him driving all over.

Hey, wait a minute! If he is gone I can drive his car. If he balks, I'll remind him of the crumpled fender and who bought his first car?

I would love to get involved but all my material is packed and I'm sure I would be committed if I tore those boxes open, but but would be willing to pay postage for some scraps, trying to get enough together for a scrappy quilt or two.
