| My ex-MIL passed away recently and among some possessions passed along to my sons were a couple of quilts. Their GM was 100, and no one seems to know whether her DM or her GM made them. I have pics to post later today. Anyway, my son was here yesterday with the quilts and they have been kept in mothballs. The smell was so bad he put them back in his van while he and the DGC were here. Does anyone know how to get rid of the mothball odor?

| Well, what an interesting question girlfriend. And I know the answer! From and expert AQS quilter no less.
Lay down a light or white sheet on.....FRESHLY MOWED GRASS.... take your quilt and lay over the sheet. Now lay another light or white sheet over the quilt and anchor all three of them down so they won't blow away. Leave them lay for several hours. Do not leave them overnight as they will collect dew.
This is better done in the shade if possible.
Why yes, your welcome and you may thank me by buying me an ice tea when we go shopping! |
