Well, we do have a famous creature here called Fatso the Fat-Arsed Wombat (and no- I'm not joking.) Here's a picture of him.

Any resemblance to myself is purely coincidental, though I have become more wombat-like over the years. It could explain why Helen and I are such a good couple.

Come on y'all, has a swap EVER started off more fun than this. I mean really. The project is super cute. Helen and I live a half a world apart, have a lot of different tastes and we both love it. You only have to worry about the block you get assigned, I promise they are not difficult. Plus making multiples of one is always easier than making a bunch of different ones. And then think of the fun when it all comes together at the end. I think you'll really enjoy it. It's been so long since we did a real block swap. We all make time for what we really want to do and we promise the time schedule will be lenient, you aren't going to have to make a dozen blocks over night.
So please, please, please come play.

Or Helen will come do that dance outside your house for your neighbors to see. Shocked
lmao lmao lmao

I think you have plenty of time Linda, this one wont be due until some time next year I reckon, its all about fun, many of us are doing SS so have something to have done by xmas let alone family gifts etc, we dont need to add a stress. You guys also have a lot of holidays coming up so many of you will be busy too. I thought with your fall and winter looming, it might be a good project to be thinking about and chatting about> Some of you have long cold winters (Your going to be cooler too Linda, yay!!) and what better weather to be inside sewing and dreaming of summer!

PS. I started a list of swappers on the bottom of the first post Very Happy

Whoo hoo look at her go! lmao lmao lmao

Memaw, Yeah, so happy you are playing.

Oh yes Linda, I think you can do it too. You can even ask for a simpler block if you want to make double sure but I don't think there will be a problem.

Just a thought, this is a quilt I made from the same type of swap yrs ago. I received the pattern to make the ice skates block and made 12 I think it was, for the swap. Then at the end of the swap I got all the other blocks back. I then made the corner snowflake blocks and did the borders as per the instructions and assembled my quilt.

This was another swap along the same lines some of us did back in 2003, I havent put mine together yet Embarassed  Hmmm who else was in this swap back then,Redwork, Nolajane, Miss Mommy, Shemoo & Marian - ok, who got theirs finished and has pics? There were 20 of us swapped back then, I remember making pumpkin blocks for everyone, it was fun.

So long ago and Shemoo just recently quilted my winter one, its hanging on my wall and Im loving having it finished after all this time. I promise not to leave the summer themed quilt we will be doing sitting for so long!!

This is the quilt I made out of those fall blocks we made for that swap.
Count me in on this swap, sounds like fun. Think I prefer to do a pieced block if that's OK.

So, let me get this right....

You are given a block design to do (applique or pieced), you make 10 of them and send them off to be distributed to the participants.  Then you get 10 blocks back, each from a different participant in the swap. And no one is to know what block design you are doing.  So you really don't know what the blocks will look like or what the quilt might look like, till you get all the blocks.
And it is Summer themed....  do I have this right??  are we suppose to sign the blocks so everyone knows who did them and where they came from?

Is this right?
