I love the chickens!   I just love the way we've all put our own special touch on this summer quilt.  I really need to get mine back out and finished........   Yours are all so beautiful.

Louanne, I love the quilting, butterflies are just perfect and the pot/vase fabric is a neat touch. You must be so happy with it, looking great

I was looking at my pieces yesterday thinking "hmmmmm should I work on this or on the UFO Im supposed to be doing?"

Well I did some on the ufo project, got all the rotten little triangle units stitched together, couldnt press them cos the cat was asleep on the ironing board which meant I had to find something else to do, what a dilemma, what could I possibly do, oh my, how about start assembling the rows on the swap, hehehehehehehe, so I have the rows all assembled. today I might get to press them and all the HST units. Doing a bit of both made me happy and not feel guilty!

I kept trying to decide, do I add checker borders or plain, do I or dont I, I got sick of myself so the night before last while Bob and Laura were watching Lord of the Rings and I was hiding, I just stitched the rows togehter and bordered them, now its done. No more Undesided this and Undesided that, done and dusted. Hard to get a pic as its very windy here and cold wind right off the snow but here is mine with my row of fairy wrens dancing across the bottom of the garden rather than a fence

Thank you FB Very Happy

I forgot too, I turned my blackbirds facing the opposite direction to the pattern, I decided I preferred them eyeing off the sunflowers rather than the house. When facing the house they reminded me of the damned starlings I loathe so much and they looked more like they were figuring where to set up their new nest in the house lol!

I also forgot to say, once again, thank you everyone for joining the swap and making all the beautiful blocks that have gone into this quilt. They are all wonderful and I will treasure them always hug08

I've cleaned up the gallery but it says I can't load because the storage is full.

Anyway, my quilt has an olive green checkerboard and a deep red border with a label at the bottom.  When it will get quilted I don't know.  Requires purchase of a backing and batting and moving lots of things in the dining room.

Gimpy, love yours.  The wrens are so cute.

Stella, its lovely, your green checkerboard and the outer borders look great, frame it so nicely and accentuate the colours in the blocks, well done

Stella, I just love the checkerboard design. It is making my artistic juices flow. Helen, only you would think of putting wrens across the bottom. How cute! I am so jealous. Mine is still in pieces. Put it on the list with the others!

Stella and Gimpy,  I absolutely LOVE THEM BOTH!

Cindee,  I'm still appliqueing all my pieces on.  Then I'll start putting the blocks together.   As for the bottom row..... I'm thinking bird houses.  You all know how I love my bird houses!  Smitten

Well, there's proof positive that leaving things out can make a dramatic result. Love your version, Gimpy.

Love it. Your border choices made it very bright and cheerful. Definitely summery.
