BTW note the folded ribbon on my avatar.

Instead of a regular mystery quilt, how about a place name scavenger hunt.  Here is one relatively easy puzzle to figure out.

Ok, I've been looking. I need a hint. Is it in U.S.?

Hey, where are the other players? I know some of you are pretty knowledgeable about block names. Come join in. Guess the block and you get to post another block with a clue.

sounds like a neat game...  Do the colors have anything to do with the name?

Yes, this one is in the US.  BTW, the pattern is a well known representation of the place, but I designed the block.  Oops, maybe this one is not so easy.  The red is definitely of some minor significance.

Nope, a place in the US. I am not sure if we have members from this place.

OK, let's try another.  I am a well known block, but much older than most people think I am.  I am a US place now, but started somewhere else. My name says it all.

Yes!  NY Beauty. One of several very similar blocks celebrating the arrival of the Statue of Liberty. NOT a block I would like to try without PPing.

I don't know the history of this block, but the place name is what counts.

Arrrrgh, I am so bad at this game. I haven't done many traditional blocks so this is harder than I thought. But I am learning a lot by looking for answers!

Mismommy, yes, one of the several names for this block is Delectable Mountains, but I am looking for the name that includes a specific place name. Delectable Mountains also has other forms. One should not be too adamant about quilt block names because names and patterns tend to mix and match a lot. I am aware of several similar block names for the same state and some of those names for other states completely.

You are SO smart! Let's see if I can stump you with this one. I know several names for this block, one with the gruesome image "frogs in a blender"
