Somehow the link for the star pattern has crawled outta sight.  TxMary, can you post it again.  I'd better take another look before I volunteer to make them for other folks.

The thing is, I want everybody possible to be in on this.  If that means making a few extra sets, I'm your huckleberry.  Very Happy

Well, ladies Iam sorry to say this, but I think I am going to bow out of this one. Was cleaning in the sewing room today and after organizing things I realized I have way too much on my plate to do this swap justice. I don't want to commit and then not be able to get the blocks done in time. I have a couple of larger quilts that need quilted and binding to boot. Sorry if this causes any inconvenience!

LOL....I'm now officially confused. Got that we are not doing the scrappy block because it's too small...so it's star for everyone. Can we get a synopsis of exactly what pattern we are doing and color/size?

Here is another block to consider if you do not want to do the star...   http://quilterscache.com/F/FriendshipScrapBlock.html

there are alot of blocks out there, gals if you want something different go to http://quilterscache.com  and look under the 12" blocks...   We have lots of time to figure this out..

When we decide on everything I will post the pattern or patterns...  When we say star pattern that is the one we want to recieve...   20 12" blocks with a border and sashing will make a nice size quilt...  We may have to make a couple for ourselves if we want bigger quilts...    It will all work out ... I promise you...

Will this make a queen size quilt golo?   Or do we still need to add more blocks?

Okay, there's the Squares within Squares 2 block. 12", no triangles (for our pointless quilters out there). It would be easy to sign the center block. Be sure to click on Page 2 to see the drawing of a lot of blocks together - it really got my thinker thinking...Undesided

The other one is a variation of the Roman Stripe block. I'd do four 6" blocks and sew them together into a 12" block rather than the sixteen 3"-ers in the original pattern. Big pieces, room to write, almost nothing to line up, lots of opportunity to use up scraps. (Who ever came up with that phrase - use up scraps?  Is it really possible to use up scraps? Don't they multiply when we're not looking? It's not just me, surely it's not. Right?)

Where was I?  Oh.  The Roman Stripe is half-dark and half light, like a log cabin. So there are roughly a zillion ways to lay it out to look really cool. BUT I don't think I'd use the instructions on the web page... it looks like it makes MORE scraps.

Both of these blocks are one-pin, Quilter's Cache's indicator of

Hmmm,  I'm OK with either block.  I'd think scraps could be used for either one.....
