PostSubject: Row Robin   Sat Jan 03, 2015 12:27 pm

This is a row robin that six of us gals did a few years back... each person started a row and that was sent on till all six people had a chance to add to it... they were allowed a month to work on it.. This is mine. I started with the coffee cup row and sent it to Between..she added the dishes above the cups... it was sent to Jeannie in Ca. and she said it looked like a table and added the legs cat and mouse... it went to Barb in Az and she added the first shelf... Breezie did the next shelf ..Gimpy sent the heading which Ellen out in Ca. added and did the border... when I got it back I just had to get it quilted and do the binding... it was a lot of fun...

This was one of the best Row Robins I had seen it was great fun watching how it grew and how everyone started seeing the same picture and went with the theme.

I was just looking over this section and found Golo's post, TxMary you asked did I have a quilt from this row robin swap, the answer is "Yes!" but Im very fortunate to have one, you see I wasnt able to participate due to the postage costs with all the rows back and forth so I had to sit it out. Ellen was one of the swappers and she invited me to collaborate and be sneaky and do the row for Golo's.

Ellen was being very sneaky, she decided she was going to make a friendship quilt for me and she had each of the gal's make a row for me to celebrate the sweetness of friendship, then she hand quilted it. They kept it all secret and you have no idea how shocked I was when the quilt arrived in the mail, I love my quilt. Its very big so was hard to get a photo off, its raining outside so I couldnt take it to the line, its dark inside but I got the best pics I could, here is my beautiful row by row quilt.

The whole quilt

Details of the rows flollow:
Top two rows, top row was made by BearFoot (Barb) and features chocolates, 2nd row made by Betweens (Debra) and features silhouttes carrying hearts

Centre row made by Ellen, this is the centre block

This is either side of the centre block

Golo's cute row comes next, the can of spray whipped cream and all the berries in it is so clever

Next comes Breezie (Bonnies) cool row, she found fabric with those candies on it with writing

Last but not least was Jeanine Roux's pretty row

The label  Very Happy

That is gorgeous. What a special quilt. The first row that caught my eye was the whipped cream! Somehow, I knew it was Gloria's. She has such a fun sense of humor and favors the brighter colors like I do. I like the pieced blocks Jeanine did too. I was amazed how complex it looked and then saw the simpler components. I like that, I may have to try that. All the rows do a wonderful job of representing the theme. Thanks for showing it.
