This is promised as a comfort quilt. Perhaps for someone burned out.

This is a large lap quilt, covering the top of a twin bed. Last I heard, the Forest Service had no idea how many were burnt out. The Forks fire complex is actually at least 40 fires. I have heard "about20" homes were lost just a couple of miles west of us. That was a week ago, with no information since. They say the fires are 52% contained but the fire area on the official map keeps getting bigger. We know that one of our local firemen lost his home. Lots of smoke and exhaustion problems as well as burns, but so far I have only heard of one fireman dying.

BTW, the intense colors on the second picture are more accurate.

Of course, I would rather no one was burnt out but I do feel a responsibility to help others in my town.

The wonderful thing about a true scrappy quilt is that there is always something different to look at.
