I finally got to make the 4000 member Celebration block. It was fun choosing the fabrics for this one. Did anyone else make it? Oct. 15 is the deadline for the drawing for 60 FQ's

OMG - that picture is HUGE - you can see all my mistakes :hammer:
Does anyone know how I can make it smaller? I copied the image code in Photobucket to get it here.

Sunday Morning:
There, I fixed it. Thank-you Chris for the instructions. clap

You need to have an actual smaller size photo (or copy of the photo) in photobucket, unfortunatey. if you still have the photo on your computer, you can resize the one that's uploaded to photobucket (it should automagically make the photo smaller here). The reason I mentioned having the original on your computer is if you want to keep the large sized one - I think that when you resize in Photobucket, it overwrites the photo.

To resize in photobucket, click on the photo so it comes up on its own page. Right above the photo under the name there are options: full size, edit image, resize, etc. Choose resize. The 300-400 range is a reasonable size.

BTW, did I see that you posted an October BOM block in the group photos? I haven't been part of the group for very long (less than a month), so I decided that I would try the Scenic BOM to get my feet wet. Mine's actually done and in the (yahoo) photo album already! whew

Oh, and for the record? I didn't notice boo-boos until you mentioned them, and what there are are totally within the realm of HUMAN-ness!

Do you trim your seam allowances narrower than 1/4" on those skinny points?

Oh. Here's my Scrappy Scenic BOM October block (because I know someone will ask!!). For those who aren't playing along, that's supposed to be an apple tree. :D

Buzzy'sMa..your block is gorgeous! I just love the fabrics you chose.

FB.. Very nice! I like the fabric you used for the top of the tree..those paisleys give the look of apples.

It sure is amazing the blocks that can be done with PPing.

OK, let's try this Photobucket thing again. Here is my October BOM. This is the first of a new series from Carol Doak. Each monthly block will be a 7 inch scene. This month was an apple tree but I chose a tree in fall colors as that is what I see out my window in Oct.

I hope more of you join in - will be fun to see the scenes everyone creates each month. I like yours too FiberBable. Chris, let's see yours!

Here is the link to the PDF file, but I'm not sure you can get there without joining the Carol Doak Yahoo Group. Let us know.

Great, Polly! We'll be looking forward to seeing your block, too!

Iambuzzy's, your tree looks great! I wanted to do an autumn tree, but all of my "leafy" fabric was too large a print. Anyway, it was kind of a personal challenge to actually FOLLOW THE PATTERN as written without changing anything! :bounce:

<snort> Is it that I'm so transparent? Or that you know me so well?
OR... could it be that you're painting me with your brush? Nah. doh

I'd just wandered over here to post to Iambuzzy's that on the next block in this BOM I'm going to NOT follow the pattern and I'll add the corner triangles after I connect the center of the block. Matching those points when putting the two sections together was a....

challenge. Evil or Very Mad

That's a very nice block, Polly. And wasn't it just SO quick? Seriously, it took me longer to choose and press the fabrics than it did to sew the block!

(I use Firefox and don't have probs... what made you think it was a FF problem?)
