PostSubject: bull's eye swap   Fri Oct 10, 2008 11:37 pm

As I am contemplating how I am going to use the blocks I received from the bull's eye swap last spring, I wondered if anyone has turned their blocks into at least a quilt top. What did you do. Do you have any pictures?
I and others would love to *see* the results of that swap! rain anitas Carolyn

Nuffsaid, I haven't had any time to do anything with the bulls eye blocks, except pet them and marvel at them, how pretty they are! I will post as soon as I can, but probably not until after the first of the year. Thud

What a neat arrangement. Very pretty colors you got in there. Looking good and I think an appliqued border would be nice. Thumbup

What a treat to get to see what you've done! It looks great. Thumbup It seems like we don't very often see people use the blocks they get in swaps. I always wondered about that. I dunno if folks have run out of steam for the project by the time they get their blocks..or are they too different to work well together..or ? These look great and I like how you've set them together. clap

THANKS GALS ! but it will look sooooo much nicer when I get a border on it and get it quilted... So far I have done all of my swaps into quilt tops... some I have actually gotten totally done... I like to see my swap blocks get put into quilts so I have the remembrance of everyone... MerryBee's name is on one of those blocks... makes this quilt extra special... I haven't forgotten my 6" blocks either ... I think I am going to incorporate them into the 9 patch somehow... :)

That is lovely! But you are right, it needs a border and then to be finished. HEHE But OOHHH I cannot wait till I get all the Christmas stuff done so I can get my blocks out and play! I had an idea to set them kind of like that! LOL! Will play around with them and see what I come up with.

There is a little box at the bottom to report if the item is offensive.. on the contrary It is fantastic!! Love what you have done Golo!

Annie.. not to worry the steam doesn't die down with the swaps it is just that when involved you are already into making the blocks for the next swap and they have to be put away until you have time to work on them... I will soon have some time... (I think I say that every month) LOL

It is easy to do, I know. I have my birthday swap blocks that are screaming my name and I just cannot get to them. I have to many others that I have to get done, NOW. I would rather get that done but I promised a little guy a bed quilt for his Big Boy Bed. And curtains to go with it.... :hammer: I still have to get the black lining for them. Then I have a baby quilt that needs to be basted, quilted and bound and still have yet to do it. Then there is the WhirliGig quilt for DD that was going to be for her birthday, in Dec, and I have only the blocks made. It will have to wait until the others are done. UGH! Too much! :affraid:

Deb the pattern came from the fatcatpatterns... but a pattern isn't really needed... can you measure her circles... I think they were 10".. 8" ... 6" sewn on a 14"square and then cut to a 13"square... cut the fabric away from the back of the circles and just sew around the circles twice.... good luck...

deb thats beautiful, well done, they will love it. I have a curiosity question, it crossed my mind the other day, Beechbabe was in your swap, the quilt store owner from a town near where I used to live. Did you ever get your blocks from her?
