Here is my row. Just the drawing to let you know what I did. Will try to get it put together this week so you can see it "in color". If we don't have enough players, I will design another one. I have another idea.

Oh my now thats just too cute, I love it, the steam BOO and the curly tree branches, pumpkin houses and kitties, its fantastic, love it, going to be so cute. Like you I havent had a chance to get onto making mine but here are pics

Juju thinks there should be white/grey kitties like her on the rows

In reality, these are my rows, spiders for Memaw, hehehehehehehe

The one on the left is actually a peacock spider, here is a pic of the real thing, they are teeny, size of glass pin heads so cute and so many vibrant colours and patterns

The middle one is an Aussie red back, I have fat one living in my hot house and we have a deal to leave each other alone and live in peace and harmony

The one on the right is just a fun one, not a real one but I could find a real one! I think pretty batiks would make awesome spider bodies, I have a piece of lime green fabric for the background of the spider row

Love both your rows Helen. Those spiders are the cutest! I also like the witches.

I traced my patterns in reverse, will make it easier on y'all and I'll email them as soon as we know for sure who is participating.

I have all of the components for my row drawn out, just need to get them put together into the long row (and to find the right paper for it).

It's a scary one. Beware.

FB I just tape sheets of printer paper together to form my row length.

Marynel, prepared to be dazzled, the peacock spider is in the jumping spider family, they inhabit Australia and they are teeny little cuties. They come in so many magical colours and patterns, take a look at some photographs by clicking HERE

Well, ladies, I won't be joining you in this swap after all. I just have way too much on my mind. I haven't even been able to sew since before Easter, and I just want to get back to my patchwork at this point. Hope y'all understand.

If all else fails, you could "borrow" from on-line coloring pages.

PostSubject: Re: Halloween Row by Row Swap   Fri Jun 10, 2016 10:11 am

I've got my row designed and drawn out. It's funny that once I put all the different pieces together, I made some adjustments once they got into row format. I guess it's kinda like grabbing clothes from the closet - they seem fine until you put them on and then you're like, "Oh, no. I really should wear a different bra with this top."

Or is that just me? Um. Nevermind...

The row has both piecing and applique. I was waiting to start the actual fabric part until I got a  new book - Crafted Applique, by Laura Bucella (amazon link). I'd kinda followed the blog hop introducing the new book and was intrigued by the "using products that you wouldn't normally associate with applique" and "absolutely NO fraying on raw edges" hints. (All of the blogs reviewing her book were really good at keeping the secret method a secret!)

So anyway, I got the book yesterday and picked up the secret ingredient last night at Jo-Ann. Today I'm going to do a test run and then start my row this weekend, using either the new method or my old tried-and-true Heat-n-Bond Lite.

Shocked What if the new method is the best thing since indoor plumbing? What EVER will I do with my bolt of HnB??? What EVER will I do???

It's actually Mod Podge Fabric. I think I like it, but want to do a little more experimenting before I make my final decision on the technique. As for the book itself, there are some problems - some things aren't explained very well. Undesided
