I hope this link works. This is a year of embroidery  stitches. I am thinking  of  doing  this. Probably  not  the  hoop version. I have to work in controlled chaos, so will have to figure  out  another  format

Would be interesting to just do random stitcheries. I have a 4" hoop I could use and get done quicker! lmao lmao lmao

I immediately thought of the 20 inch hoop that isn't getting used now that hand quilting is hard for me.

The 365 site got hacked last year and my family started getting weird stuff on their facebook. Makes me wary.

So how reckless and crazy am I? Think I'm going to sign up. My embroidery project was taken by the ex BIL when my sister divorced. Its about time I did another one. Twenty years isn't too long is it? Cheesy

I think I'm going to do it too. I love embroidery & never take the time to sit down & do it. This will motivate me, I hope!

Red, you are a glutton for punishment! (aren't we all?) lmao lmao lmao

This is like doodling isn't it? Remember drawing a little flower and then gradually just adding all sorts of stuff around it? I still do that when I am on the phone a long time. I draw a square, fill it in with a pattern, add to it, make slanted lines to the egde........just on and on.

Still think 4" is better! coolsmiley

when I was on the mainland I came across a lady who embroiders the artwork of Joanna Basford, the lady who does all the colouring books. I saw the fox picture done in embroidery and it was just beautiful.

So anyone who is keen on embroidery might want to take a second look at the plethora of colouring books out there for some adult ideas

I'm still on the  fence  about  joining  in.  I think if I draw  a  grid could do one block a day for 12 blocks/months and end up with useable  quilt blocks.  Then I think of the quilts  rolling  around  in my head and think maybe  not.  What really concerns  me  is knowing  my essential  tremor  stops me from doing  any sewing  or  handwork  some  days. Sometimes  several days at a time. . . .

Sewn I used to tremor so badly I had to give up cross stitch, simply had no hope of getting the needle into the linen in the right space so I sure feel for you. Hard when some days its on and some days its off, hard to plan adn then you end up with lots of catch up. Love your Goldie pic, she looks lovely

Goldie  wasn't  as happy  with the  picture  as I was lol!. Her attitude  was  more like Really ?  Can we just get this  over with ?   She  put her paw down on the sunglasses, absolutely  refused  to  wear them. lmao

This sound interesting so I signed up but I'll wait to see how it works. I think doing one of these that reflects your day and life would be very interesting. So if that is what she is doing I'll probably give it a try!

Helen, that is actually a great idea for an intricate stitchery. Would keep a body busy for a while that's for sure.

The designs I saw in person, they had taken one single component out of a picture and embroidered it, like the fox, I found a pic online of one someone did, the one I saw was much better

a pic of some of the designs of Johanna Basford, some are full page intricate, some are single features like these, imagine embroidering or combing stitches and pencil colouring

I'll have to check my books when I get a chance. But both of mine are full page patterns, thousands of details. Will have to see if certain elements can be picked out.

Those look lovely. I have been considering an appliqued animal along the same concept, with floral or leafy fill ins.
