I looked around when we were at in-laws for Christmas and didn't think MIL has wall space - so maybe hanging on the fridge? or free-standing? I will continue searching . . . I was just hoping one of you had already found something wonderful you'd tell me about! :)

I finished my January tea towel and posted it in the Gallery. Was I suppose to wait till January? Embarassed Anyway, I had fun making it!

Nice site, Qbee... aren't those Motifs just darling..

Bearfoot, I think if we can get a head start with all the project that are going that is okay to post.... gives others ideas and gets them excited to do theirs..

CC go ahead and post yours.... anxious to see it...

I just hope everyone has fun doing this....

Golo, BF, and CC - too cute! every single one of them! I like the wild outfit Golo dressed her snowman in and his great big feet! Bearfoot's has the cutest face and he's such a caring snowman, giving the birdie a place to rest. Calico's was such a fun surprise - he's in a snow globe!! and there's a January sign! I also like the matching border, Chris.

I think you're a bit showy-offy posting your towels already - but, I love ya all anyhow! ;)

I finished my T-Towels for January. It's not as appliqued as everybody elses
but it goes with the Snowman apron, oven mitts and pot holders I'm doing for
the Bingo game on CTTQ. I've posted a pic in the t-towel album.

I was all set to make mine tommorow, Jan 1st but now we are having guests for lunch, might have to move the day I do it.

Love all your towels, Linda I have a set of those snowman blocks, never thought of doing that with them, you have me thinking now, might be a nice idea for a set for my parents.

Barb love your yellow tea towel and the snow man with its chubby little cardinal, oh its too cute.

CC the snow globe, what a unique idea, well done and yeah I like the january sign too, so will each tea towel of yours find a way to hide a sign for the month it belongs to? Love the border too, have done some with borders like that as gifts.

Ok now I wanna do mine, maybe NYE would be the go, why not do it tonight?

Pookie Gimpy,
I found three panels at the Goodwill for a dollar each with the snowman apron, mitt and towel applique. I didn't need 3 aprons so I'm making 2 potholders, 2 tea towel and an extra oven mitt. Also used 1 applique for a Secret Santa gift on another forum. I got 3 bucks to go a long way! Next year they will be all done and ready to use.

Linda, cute towel...be sure to post a pic of the set when finished!
I was thinking about making all snow globes for all the months but then I had an idea for February............poof! They will all be unique. I'm thinking about encorporating my DS's birthday in March's, he is my little leprechaun baby...first baby born St. paddy's day in our hospital. Over the years I have gotten him little st. paddy's day things...I can add this to his hope chest.

I found the wonder under at joann's, they had "regular" and "heavy" not sure if regular is the lite or not. It feels slightly heavier than steam a seam light. I also bought a new product from Pelon called clear fuse, it was unopened and the girl at the cutting counter said "cool, ive never cut this before" It is single sided clear plastic with web. It was an utter failure.
1) the clear plastic was kind of sticky when ironed (it said damp I gave damp)
2) they suggested leaving one corner unfused.....no kidding...there was no seperating the small pieces after cutting
3) pencil wouldnt show, pen smeared, had to use my micron pen which rubbed off cause I am impatient and didn't allow to dry.
I'll use up what I have of the steam a seam and wonder under and decide which I like best when sewn etc.

Chris - have you tried the Heat n'Bond lite? (It has to be the lite one in order to sew through it.) Maybe this is my same old song that you've heard before :). . . but I find the Heat n'Bond so easy to work with. That's what I've always used, then a few months ago I did my own testing of several of the other products available, and still liked the HNB better than any of the others. I window it, so I have only about 1/4" around the edge of the applique. I use just a plain old pencil to trace. I'm sort of funny about my Heat n'Bond lite, I guess. I like it so much, I'm sure everyone else should love the stuff, too! :)

It is so much fun to see the variations on a theme! Linda2B - love the combination you used - the snowman and border are so cute on the white waffle-weave.

Im with you QBee, I have trialled other products and just keep going back to heat n bond, have only had it fail me once in 9yrs and that was a piece I bought, seemed like the glue didnt work on it, store replaced it anyway. It doesnt come apart and get wasted like I found others do, its easy to draw on, easy to see through and gives a nice finish. I use the one with the lavender printing on it, think thats the lite.

Linda you did well with the panel, good job. Mum gave me mine a couple of years back :-)

Well Im glad I waited to make my snowman, seeing as its summer here I dont want him to melt but here we are, first day of january and my area forecast is for highland snowfalls developing so looks like my snowman will be just fine, think he will be coming down with the first flakes :snow-032:

I only use Heat and Bond too. Someone told me that it can get old and the glue dry out. I try to keep mine in the plastic, but not always successful.

Okay big WARNING for users of Nancy Halversen "Art to Heart" Teatowels when rinsing them watch the dye come out...the greens are especially bad and the other colours not much better so you will need to rinse and set the colours of these BEFORE using...

Very disappointing I love her products not happy that I am having to do this to all twelve towels.. hmmmmm angry
