Doing each block in different colors is an intriguing idea. Heck, I haven't cut my Block 2 yet, I could.... NO! Stop!!!

I won't do it, because I've got A Plan, but you're right. I can see primary/crayon colors. With the right sashing and a border it would be stunning... in a circus-kinda way. ;)

I sure haven't seen a lot of them in my surfing travels. Maybe they're too involved for many people? In fact, now that I think of it... I haven't seen any color other than red, except for J2's.

Blue would be grand. So would yellows. OOOooo! Blues with yellows!!

:coffee1:

Oh, Gloria, that's cool! What did you do to make the "lace" show up so well??

(Ack! :affraid: I don't have any red with dots!!)

Golo, it's gorgeous yet again :D And I too love the lace.

I have searched my stash over and over, even the scrap box and I don't have any red spotty fabric, After seeing these two blocks I don't think anything else will do! So off to the LQS and just hope they have some!

Wow these are some really pretty blocks. I agree with Polly, I think the "spotty" fabric really makes those pomegranites.

Good job ya'll. FB please tell your friend that her blocks are awesome.

I just happened across a CORRECTION PAGE for the Red Delicious Block #3. Panic! :affraid: :affraid:

Okay, don't panic. The correction is
Cutting: Background fabric, cut 16 1/2 x 9 1/2

and
Red Scraps: Select 8 different fabrics
7. Strip= 17 x 1/2 inch

This tells me that the showoffs artists who have already completed this block and lived to tell the story are

A. Incredibly clever individuals for whom a typo or two is no challenge police

or

B. Like many of the rest of us. They don't really read the instructions if there are pictures available! Cheesy

I just look at the picture and decide how to cut the pattern.... I haven't looked at their fabric sizes at all... plus I am making my background squares bigger and will cut them down if need be... hope I don't run into problems or I'll be making a different quilt... LOL

Well block two has an error also, it says

Finished Block Size: 16 inches x 6 inches

yet is tells you to cut the background piece 16.5 inches x 9.5 inches

thank you, I have been using the blocks as an experiment to try mxing old and new, new as in fossil fern fabrics and old as in reproduction prints (stems and leaves) I think they worked well, not what you would usually think to mix

All of these that you all have done are so beautiful that I'm afraid to start them. It's no wonder she called these delicious. Perfect name, but it looks like they would be delicious in any color. I love her designs!

Cottonpicker dont be afraid, they arent hard really and a lot of the pieces, if you look carefully you can alter it a tad I think to make life easier. Im going to add little buttons to block 2 rather than fabric circles. THey are fun, I could see them in other colours like purples and blues, love the ones in orange, tehy are beautiful too
